New Nvidia Driver 266.58

big-mike

SOH-CM-2022
There is a new driver out and for me it works great with my 285GTX.
I have nearly no stutters, and the FPS are not so wildly fluctuating as before.
Don`t need the Limiter now.
FPS are gone a little bit down(like the old legendary 182.50),but FSX is now much more smoother.
Seems,as Nvidia has taken care of FSX.
Try it out,nothing to loose.
Michael

Thanks for the H/U gonna stick with what I have...never had any stutters on this GTX285. I am glad to see Nvidia working hard on their drivers especially for the new 400 and 500 GTX series!

What driver are you using with the GTX285,Ted? :)

I'm still using the 197.45 series with nHancer. I have tried all but the last series of drivers we had before Christmas and I keep going back to this one. With Q9550-S OC'd to 4.2GHz, 4gb of 1200mhz, Win7 64 bit I have always stayed at 32fps locked no stutters using latest nHancer (Supersampling 3x3), I was given three PNW packages for Christmas and there is no drop in fps or stutters. I did get rid of GEX since I fly strictly in PNW but kept UT.

Thanks,Ted...might give those a try:salute:. I'm mostly happy out with the performance of my sim too (qx9770 @4.2ghz,8gb of 2000mhz,win 7 64 and a GTX285) but every bit helps! :)

I'm noticing a nice smooth FPS rate with these drivers on my GTX580.
THX for the HU!!:salute:

I agree-they are rock solid, increase in FPS, stutters not there
Will keep investigating........

I updated my system to this new driver yesterday. But no the ATC window in FSX is blurred and very hard to read. I recognized that in my taskbar, left of the clock, some symbols are more fat than normal since the update. Anyone got an idea what could cause this?
I have removed the driver and put it back than. But nothing better.

If I recall it correctly, to install these new drivers from 266.xx it is not required to uninstall the previous ones, because the installation process takes care of that, right?

I think,you are right.
But i allways do it the old way:Uninstall driver,
boot into Safe-Mode,run Driver Sweeper,Reboot,
install new driver and let him settle down a few minutes.
Then again reboot and you are ready to use it.

They seem to be a little better than the last set and one thing I did was to take a screenshot of my Nvidia Inspector settings as I guessed that they'd be erased...and they were.

Ran the CD to install my new GTX460 - big mistake. Went to NVidia, downloaded the 266.58 - bingo, we have a winner.
