New Nvidia drivers

I have a 770 Nvidia card and was recently alerted to some new drivers 340.52 WHQL. After several blue screens and error messages I tried a roll-back. This didn't work for me showing an error message re NVCPL.dll. I downloaded the previous drivers 337.91 WHQL and loaded them. So far so good. Just goes to show that the latest isn't always the bestest!

Downloaded from the NVidia site, got 'em ready to install. Uninstalled the old ones then installed the new - no problems.

For me too Roger. Got many particles flying in my windows, some apps got impossible to run and other bizarre behavior. Rolled back too.

The new Nvidia 340.52 WHQL drivers produce bizarre squares in P3D v2.2. This is a well documented topic at the Lockheed Martin P3D forum. The same with the previous beta 340.43 version. Looks like there needs to be more communication between Lockheed Martin and Nvidia. I rolled back to 337.88 WHQL and have no problems with any application.

340.52 WHQL drivers running fine here as well.
Nothing weird in any program, but it might be because I run quad SLI.
:triumphant:

Wombat: small question: do you have P3D v2 running? One of the reasons I haven't tried it out yet is that I have SLI running as well.

Thanks in advance for your reply!

Also running 337.88 with my 650Ti and it seems fine in both 2.2 and 1.4.

Posted on the previously after updating to 335.xx and started having black screens w/ my laptop based GTX460M, I thought I got a corrupt download due to my sloooow ISP here in the Sandbox. After researching on the Nvidia forums, found a driver uninstall utility (called DDU) that completely removes everything related to the driver, as rolling back didn't cure the issue. Previous to this I have had zero issues with the auto updates from G-Force Experience, so another note from the forums, DO NOT use G-Force Exp! Many also report if it "aint broke....", I think most FSX users find it natural to update something with the hopes of improved performance, even 1-2 frames.

The new driver was BAAAAD news for me and P3Dv2. I run a GTX 780 3Gb and uninstalled the driver before re-installing the previous driver I had.

I see the same ( GTX 780 Ti ) but mine are transparent triangles, all over the place.... No probs with FSX or any other sims.

cheers,
jan
