Uncle Tgt has released an awesome cloud pack. Its a nice replacement for the LDW clouds I have been using.

Wulf190,

Thanks for beating me to the punch! And to UncleTgt, this looks so jaw-droppingly impressive! Most ten year-old sims are left in the $0.99 bin somewhere, long forgotten. But CFS2 has not only withstood the test of time, it keeps getting better!

Truly outstanding work to you, and Dvslats! :ernae:

Amazing stuff, guys, thanks Uncle T and Dvslats. They have been my favorite set of textures, hard to believe, but they keep getting even better!:salute::salute::ernae:

I have a question regarding cfs2 clouds. The clouds seem to be two dementional, meaning I have no depth just height and width. I also see shades of light purple looking at clouds from various angles. FSX clouds and rof clouds look good and now I am wondering if it is a video driver issue.

Snow

UT, at what elevation does your snow start to show up? Just downloaded and installed this and I must really thank you for it.

I just flew out of Kiska eastbound over a couple of higher elevation islands and didn't see any.

Cheers!:jump:

Hi Olaf, It's not a driver issue, its just how CFS2 clouds are. The clouds you see are not true 3D clouds they are just 2D made to mimic a 3D environment. I'm sure it was a way to help keep performance up. 3D clouds didn't come in to M$'s flight sims till maybe FS2002?

Alpha, I think you have to go in to the CFS2 config file and turn snow on. it will replace rain as the precipitation you see.

Jeepers, Wulf, whoda thunk it? Thanks for the heads up!

uh.......just went and took a looksee. Just how would a fella do this?

Good evening,

UncleTgt has now uploaded three packages that recolor the bitmaps for some of MaskRider and Pen32Win's bases to better match the surrounding FSX-style terrain packages.

These are of jaw-dropping quality, UncleTgt. You are to be commended, fantastic job! :ernae:

:salute:Rami, you're very kind, but I'm just a repainter, the airfields are the works of Pen32win & Maskrider.

Most of MRs later stuff doesn't need touching at all, it's just his earlier sets - I'm working my way through them.

By way of illustration, I'm reposting a couple of screenies showing before & after shots ...

UncleTgt,

Don't sell yourself short! Look at those pics you posted. This makes the airbases almost seamless with the terrain. Whether you want to cloak yourself in modesty or not, you can't argue that the proof of your effort lies within those pics.

Once again, outstanding job! :ernae:

Yeah - WHat HE Said !

Modesty is one sign of integrity, Unkle - your talent, given freely to the Basement community, is a testament to our total commitment to keeping CFS2 alive !

Great Work - Thank you :salute:
