New Sea King from Alphasim/ Virtavia

I'm running Win 7...

....and getting the usual problems-- see through fuselage, sim won't leave pause.

I'll keep dorking with it.

(I'm reading posts that keep saying "Just use the wrapper"-- which means nothing to me except memories of past Flight 1 debacles.)

We'll see what happens...I just need to keep at it.

P.S. I've turned off AV, I''ve disabled UAC. I haven't moved any files....still not working-- and I'm sick of dorking with it for the moment...time for a break.


****UPDATE*** I'm dumb, dumb, dumb....Reinstalling from "The Wrapper" means wiping out all traces of the existing install (EXCEPT the key and license files), going to the ORIGINAL downloaded Flight 1 file (red airplane logo), and selecting the reinstall option (after AV, UAC, etc are off!), then marrying things up with the key, etc. Works like a charm!!!!

Are you getting the 'see through fuselage' in the Preview Pane when you're selecting the aircraft or is the aircraft only going see through once you've loaded it?

If it's only going see through after it's loaded then your Licence file is not in the correct location.

Check that you've got a file C:\Virtavia\Virtavia02.lic
Do a search for 'Virtavia02.lic'

If it's see through in the Preview Panel then you're missing the virtavia.dll or it's in the wrong place.
Do a search for 'virtavia.dll'
 
Anyone know of a US Coast Guard paint floating around out there anywhere?
I have been looking in all the usual spots but not finding.

Extract the folder that I made to the desktop and from the individual texture folders you only need the following files
SH_01.bmp, SH_02.bmp, SH_03.bmp, SH_04.bmp, SH_05.bmp, SH_Swatch.bmp and swatch1.bmp. the rest of the texture files in the folder can be deleted.

Here is a bat file that will convert the textures from BMP to DDS, http://www.mediafire.com/file/2d9r7gudux7v867/bmp2dds.zip, place the 2 files into each folder, run the bat file a couple of seconds later you should have 7 dds files, you can then delete the bmp files and the 2 converter files. this folder then can be moved over to the Virtavia seaking folder.

you will also need to copy over from one of the new texture folders the texture.cfg and make a thumbnail, add an entry to the aircraft.cfg.

the 2 links I posted a couple of posts up is for something in the region of 38 textures, the only ones that won't work are the Italian VIPs, the Westland HC6 and tha Westland ASac7, 4 out of 38 not bad for free, and so soon after release, just needs a little work on your side, I did the hard part. see post above.:jump:


here's another mod for you http://www.mediafire.com/file/02ec2qhin9outh2/Crew.dds just place this file Crew.dds in the texture.shared folder to change the pilots helmets from white to Green (remembering to back up your original).
