I have always WW1 and WW2 ship cammo paintworks. The other day I ran into some interesting books on the topic:

I got the "Ship Shape" one. Even if centered in WW1 (and specially in merchant ships), even the stories of the artists that were involved in designing the cammo schemes and also some hints on visual tricks to deceive the observer just using the paintwork are worth of it.

Les dernières productions de notre ami Stuart 277 sont un régal pour celui qui veut peindre les camouflages contrairement à ses précédentes productions . J'espère voir bientot quelques navires qui sont très attendus comme les cuirassés Bretagne , les avisos français et les sous marins , de bons navires de ligne américains South Dakota et Washington ainsi que les croiseurs type Northampton et destroyers type Benson les torpilleurs italiens type Soldati et les croiseurs russes . De très intéressants camouflages sont disponibles pour ces navires .

Well done very nice to see accurate camo esp for the Med where it was significant but they were used widely.

the WWI merchant paints were bizarre to the point of beyond belief and frankly they helped the U Boat Kaptians in stead of hindered them but it was an interesting effort. Well done D!
