These days to describe something as Heath Robinson-esque is to describe an invention or machine that is simultaneously ingenious, overly-complicated and makeshift. A Heath Robinson contraption is the British counterpart to a Rube Goldberg machine, and the term has been included in the dictionary officially since 1912.
......also as I recall, Heath Robinson was the nick name given by some of the WREN's at Bletchley Park to the first machine devised to de-cipher Lorenz traffic during WW2.
Stuart, your work continues to be excellent Collin would be proud to see it all, great addtions to the extended fleets. I esp like the new small boys as they were called in the WWII. all were essential and much in service. Keep up the great work i hope to test them all when i can carve out the time and get my files updated.
I always think of Collin and CG Shipyard too. Stuart277 is keeping alive a proud tradition. Many kudos, my Aussie friend. Thanks for all of your amazing efforts!
Stuart - attached may be of use/interest - it's one of the small ships that was at Dunkirk that I did a computer model (mostly detailing the lines plans) of a few years ago - might make a nice addition to the CFS2 fleet? The real boat is still afloat and being used/preserved.
