Many thanks for the US destroyer-transports & Australian supply vessels.

These help to give the midwar period shipping a little less uniform appearance.

People forget just how much a Heath-Robinson affair the advance & supply of forces fighting across PNG was during the critical 1942/43 period...

Some one want to "splain" to me about the Heath- Robinson affair UncleTgt is talking about in tne PNG theater?

These days to describe something as Heath Robinson-esque is to describe an invention or machine that is simultaneously ingenious, overly-complicated and makeshift. A Heath Robinson contraption is the British counterpart to a Rube Goldberg machine, and the term has been included in the dictionary officially since 1912.

......also as I recall, Heath Robinson was the nick name given by some of the WREN's at Bletchley Park to the first machine devised to de-cipher Lorenz traffic during WW2.

Stuart, your work continues to be excellent Collin would be proud to see it all, great addtions to the extended fleets. I esp like the new small boys as they were called in the WWII. all were essential and much in service. Keep up the great work i hope to test them all when i can carve out the time and get my files updated.

:encouragement:
