• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

  • Server side Maintenance is done. We still have an update to the forum software to run but that one will have to wait for a better time.

New Simulator from Aerosoft

Well if I take a look how Mathijs Kok behaves in 'his' forum,

1. the fact that he is badmouthing previous aerosoft designers openly (the twinotter designers)
2. bans the original F-16 designer because he dared to state that Mathijs simply stopped working with him after he almost died in a car accident and couldn't reply for a few weeks
3. he openly accuses the designer of the to-be-released-alphasim Islander of theft (and is being forced to delete the whole thread after a few days)
4. he refuses to ban people in the forum who openly call airline pilots and other members a*holes because; 'he's a good customer'

5. and last but not least he openly states that until the PBY, aerosoft has never released a plane that he was satisfied with (and still everyone is guilty except him)

Considering all the facts, I doubt that this simulator will be useful or of good quality.
I know quite a few designers who in the meantime refuse to work with aerosoft and they are disgusted by the way Mathijs misuses his forum.

After gaining more information about these facts I decided to stop buying any products from aerosoft.

But that's just my 2 cents
 
Sounds awesome! I think Mathijs could do it. He knows tons of developers and is great at marketing and he knows what he wants and has high expectations.

I hope he does it.

I wish him the best of luck. I REALLY do. As someone who has been working in the flight sim industry for YEARS, its going to be a massive undertaking of epic proportions. Just to give people an idea, when the Microsoft Flight Sim team was let go, there was about 150 people on the team, and they were working with an existing engine.

Good luck again, we need more competition in this industry. Competition means good things for the consumers.
