I post often over on the MSFS2020 forum so this is my debut P3D forum post. On a whim a few weeks ago I purchased P3DV6 and, after having to restore a crashed computer this weekend, felt it was the perfect opportunity to load it and play with it. My gosh, the flood of memories from over a decade of piddling with FSX! I added the ORBX Global Base package as well as ORBX Global Buildings. Downloaded as few MILVIZ freebies, installed Aeroplane Heaven freeware aircraft through ORBX and downloaded some solid scenery sets - RAF bases in the UK, Vietnam and Laos airstrip and airbase collections from the Vietnam War, as well as the CBI "Hump" package. I broke down and bought a few payware aircraft, just out of curiosity - the Virtavia B-24s, Flight Replicas DC-4, Canberra PR.9, and the Flysimware Fairchild PT-26. I've had a blast just messing around with the sim, reminding me so much of FSX! I have it looking pretty darn good after the scenery addons and messing with the graphics settings. Getting solid framerates, too. That never happened with FSX!
So. does anyone have any recommendations for addons that are a necessity or desireable to increase the graphics, help performace, increase the experience, anything at all? Any absolute favorite freeware or payware aircraft or addon airfields? I can't wait to hear what ya'll got! Oh, and if anyone has any links to repaints for the FR DC-4, particularly USAF liveries for FSX/P3D, that would be amazing. Cheers!
