Hey Dave,

Painted. Its for FS9, so the vertice count has to be minimized.

Repaint kit has the windows on a layer, so no worries there.

Hmmm.... I still have the FSPilot mag from when Bill did an interview. Lets see if we can come up with a new slogan for him. Good job on the 797, i cant wait for the FSX version to come out. :jump:
 
Anyone who really enjoys BWB, there are all kinds of variations represented within this issue of Aerospace projects Review.

Caveat, I am doing some non paid work for him on an upcoming issue, just for full disclosure. But if you enjoy this sort of stuff, you'll enjoy at least looking at the images on the website.:)

Some screenshots. The Tasman airliner paint scheme is about done. Added some fuel trucks that show up when the engines stop turning. Couple of guys appear also with the trucks, one standing on the top.

This is at the small Pattonville airport in Germany. Dont ask how I got there, lol... At least they had a place for me to park.

Reminds me of a mix between the Hindenburg or Graff Zeppelin, and the Star Trek TNG 'Enterprise' NCC-1701D (Picards ride).

I added 'plating' visuals (very very lightly) to the hull decking for that 'Enterprize' sort of look. Paint it light blue and put on some Federation insignia, and you have one, lol... Even has Warp nacelles!

I was thinking, these would be like aerial cruise ships in a way. For instance. What if a few shipping companies bought some of these and had really wild, elaborate interiors put in them, and they were for mostly joy riding in, like on the later super luxury Zeppelins. Bedrooms, promenade decks, etc. I was thinking of putting in some cieling and belly windows, like Hindenburg had (belly windows).

Just imagine the possibilities......

thats pretty much the way I envision them...or the generation of aircraft that the BwB ultimately leads to...

I think that this is exactly what captures the imagination - they are just like the next generation of passenger travel mode that the dirigibles represented

I'd love to see that bird in United, American, British Airways, Lufthansa, etc... new and retro liveries

you know, if this were Howard Hughes' era he'd already have 10 on order with exclusive rights for the first 2 production runs... fact.
She'd look real fine in that TWA red, black and gold livery with the big golden globe on each winglet...
 
Personally, i'd like to see the Pan Am logo flying on those tails..
Guess i'm just a sentimentalist at heart.. :)
 
One little nitpic, based on the pics you just posted. It seems to me that either those men in the pic are too big or the plane is too small. As I don't see those guys fitting through the boarding doors and it seems the two rows of windows are too close together to fit two decks if the people are that size. Just saying.

As for it being a luxury flyer, maybe it should be painted like a flying hotel? Hilton Air? :iidea:
I think it would look great in Tame Colors or Cathay Pacific. Or build it as a half cargo/half airliner config as a transport for the U.S. Thunderbirds Demonstration team. Just think of how cool that would look in a T-Birds scheme! :d
 
I agree. It does look a bit small. I was wondering that myself.

I'll go through everything again and double check dimensions.

Doors are too small...

Correct wingspan (identical to A-380), and people are 5'10".

Thanks for the heads up on that.

The more I work with this and test it in FS, the more smaller it looks. At first it seemed like a giant, like a Zeppelin, but its actually not.
