Wooden wings like a Bellanca, 200 MPH capable, with 180 MPH cruise. A pure rocket. Very small plane. Barely holds 2 people.

Its a Wittman Tailwind, designed by the world air racing champ and designer Steven Wittman who first created it back in the 1950's. Brian got it right.

Yep, it does look similar to a BD-4. I had thought thats what it was also, but it isnt. The Tailwind came along far earlier then Jim Bede's design. Jims was in all aluminum construction, while Steves was fabric, steel tubing, and wood.

It came out in Sport Pilot magazine this month and I just cant get my eyes off of it.. (Could be last months edition).

Hey Glenn,
Its not as bad as you think. Sitting on the ground an be difficult when the nose is up in the air. With TrackIR though, you can look over it. The side windows are better then in a Caravan. The Caravan, you are sort of up in the wing. This has Porsche Speedster style side windows.

Here are a couple of more screenshots.
I will have 2 models in the package, the slower, older model with basic instrumentation, raked back rudder, full top in plexiglass, no wheel fairings. Then the second version (W10) will be with a high performance engine, 3 bladed prop, wheel fairings, later model rudder, covered roof, and some basic Navigation instruments.
Thats the plan.. :d
I needed a brake from high technology aircraft and Garmin computerized screen systems. This is my little vacation! :d
This is the W8 series, early model, no fairings. This will have a wooden prop as well. You cant see the rudder, but its raked back, similar to a Maule.
This is the W10 version, later model with a rudder similar to a Extra 300's rudder shape.
Note the flat top of the fuselage, staying wide near the rear. This is alot of lifting surface. This is probably a major amount of the lift carried by this plane. Similar to that Shorts aircargo plane that uses its fuselage to generate lift.
