Nimrod smoke question

Roger

Senior Administrator
Added some smoke to Brian's Nimrod but is there a simple way to keep the smoke on when the engines are started without pressing the "I" key?

This one: (in vc 1) gauge14=ALPHA_Victor!FDB85%smoke, 1,1,1,1. You'll need to put the .cab file in the main gauges folder.

I also have the CS b-52 and used their smoke:

[smokesystem]
smoke.0=-8.3,-10.8,-0.2, cs52_smoke
smoke.1=-7.5,-8.5, -0.2, cs52_smoke
smoke.2=-7.5, 8.5, -0.2, cs52_smoke
smoke.3=-8.3, 10.8,-0.2, cs52_smoke

It could be any other smoke that suits.

Did you not have any smoke Roger?

I was the only beta tester not to see it and we never found out why! It is built into the model, not an effect. I might try this, as somewhere I have the Victor!

there is a simple effect control script gauge which you can have smoke at high RPM. We use it in all our models

Ahhh...thought I was being clever adding smoke and all along I was in a minority that couldn't see the included smoke effect!:redf:

The smoke is very good.....if you can see it!

It is power sensitive and very smokey at full power. I would be interested to know how many folk are missing it. I tried a thread here to investigate it, but with little response.

I also get no smoke from the default heavies, so maybe that's a clue!

Trev, do you know which effect the .mdl calls for? It may be just a missing fx file.

Sorry Roger, we never got it sorted! It seems to not use an a .fx file at all and the smoke is part of the model!

It installed 4 .fx files when I installed it the other day:

fx_MR2R_smoke_1.fx
fx_MR2L_smoke_1.fx
fx_MR2R_smoke_2.fx
fx_MR2L_smoke_2.fx
