No Joystick.....!

Lionheart

SOH-CM-2014
I went up North to the mountains for the weekend. I brought my computer and wanted to do some fun flying (non work related, just fun flights).

No joystick, lol... I had taken it home last year.

Beetle (I think it was) from Aces once said, 'You arent a man until you can fly a plane with the keyboard only'. I 'needed' to fly..... 8-| So, I looked up controls/buttons/control surfaces on Prepar3D, memorized them quickly, practiced, then did some flying.

By yesterday afternoon, I had flown from Santa Monica to San Luis Obispo, took a break, rough landing but made it, then off to San Francisco, along the coast. Flew over the Golden Gate, around the city, then touch down at KSFO. Horrible.... Crashed in the ocean, stalling my new Mooney. arrgh....

Last night, before bed, I had to have more. I practiced shooting touch and goes in the Maule at Montgomery Field (San Diego) and was successful every time, except I decided to go off to a far off airport, and there, I crashed again. :(

Very interesting. If you want to see if you can do it, try it. Its easier then you think.

Now try it blinfolded with your arms behind your back... then you can call yourself a man lol

Hehe, reminds me of the CS C-130 demo, tried that one to see how it runs on the rig, and just for fun took off with it, flew some time and landed more or less safe, just by trims, as it had no primary flight controls.

And the Ju-52 was nice, too, took a whole flight with just the three throttle handles to control the aircraft. No stick or pedals at all!
