No Snow in cfs2

In The Read me files it says you can have snow I never have been able to make this work.
I do a temperary work around by remaneing rain.bmp to snow.bmp
Have anyone fixed this problem.
Can It be fixed.
Was it missed out because the computers was alot slower when the game first came out.
Is the weather DLL faulty.
Can any one give me an answer please.

CFS2/Snow

I'm not sure exactly where I got this , but I do believe it works.

You can make up your weather in Free Flight and have it rain .. all you have to do to make it snow is go to the cloud.0 line and change the fourth number from the right from 1 to 2

visibility.0=24140.16,0.00,2438.40
vis_layers_num=1
cloud.0=9,915.01,1524.00,99.67,2,0,0,1,0.00,3,0
cloud_layers_num=1

As Otto points out, you can have snow by changing the "1" to a "2" as he describes.

The “snow” appears as white blobs, similar to rain only less distinct. No matter how heavy you set the precipitation you’ll only get a small amount of snow falling, less than if you had created rain. The snow won’t stick to your plane and it won’t accumulate on the ground. Still, if you have winter textures installed, it is better than nothing

Thats another work around the problem.
Now I can save the cfg and make a short cut.
I am supprisedthis error within the game have not been fix properly over the years the game have been with us

I think changing the texture names work better.
Is interesting how people work around problems within the game.
I posted a thred like this one before but got no replies.
Doing a thredad on updateing the scenery_cfs_library.bgl to iron out the errors within ie texture names misspelt and SIZE.
