SOH-CM-2026
It took me a while to catch up, but I finally got round to installing the Noratlas, and what a nice beast it is!

however, every time I enter the cockpit, the engines stop. Is this just me, or is this a known problem?

Either start the engines manually in the vc, or use the 'auto start' switch detailed in the popup window. Its known that ctrl e in exterior mode wont keep them running.

Please Jankees, grace this great model with some of your excellent repaints! There were some Noratlas in civilian service...might be a place to start. :)

Jankees if you do get into painting this bird make sure you have the latest version as the mdl had some mapping issues which the Noratlas project team have now corrected. A paintkit is available at Flightsim.

The paint kit is exactly that. It also includes a layer of "baked" metal shine/reflections if one wants. It is easy to make.

hmm... the included bare metal is.... not great... well, its not to my preference, I have a different technique.... (trying to be neutral in case the modeler pm's me shouting at me for not loving every aspect of his plane again). A lot more can be done, I'll put it that way. I just haven't the time to redo bare metal with the secret squirrel project I'm finishing work on.

HI,
It seems that the fuel valve cuts off when going back into the VC. By just switching it ON when "arriving" into the VC, the engines start again...
I don't know why, but great model anyway!!
:jump:

Sylvain

yep, there's two autostart features, one's the red handle on the left side, next to the yoke and pedestal... other on the popup check box panel. the switching from exterior engine off thing is only if you originally start with ctrl+e outside, then go in... if you start internally it works fine.

D-ACUT which currently resides in the 'Flugzeugausstellung Hermeskeil' might be an option..?

Not bad Jankees... and yeah the red one was on my radar, but i didn't get much chance to pursue it with... 'other' work on the fs plate. I was kinda kidding about no israeli ones :p if you want to, cool, I'm just on a lengthy project for that... including redoing all the cockpit labels in Hebrew :p (to match the IAF ones sold to Israel in the 60s)

My only problems are the annoying camo scheme used, and the fail door mapping which requires both para doors to have the same colour... annoying.com.
