Northrop P-61B/C By Kazunori Ito

Being as I'm involved in the making of an FSX model I decided to do a search to see if there was anything for FS9. As I expected, Kazunori Ito did one for CFS2. It's not bad. It has a VC (if that's what you call it) which is basically a blur. There is a nice 2D panel that was created from a C-model. It doesn't look too bad. Although I am having gauge issues and need to track all the gauges down so the panel is full. Right now there are a lot of empty holes that need filling. Also, the FDE is way off. Right now it flies like a stunt plane that has roll rates that are ridiculously fast.

Granted it's not a true FS9 model, but it is something to play with. The resemblances are very close as long as you don't get too picky. Maybe we can all get together and make this thing flyable. Here's a few shots of all the paints and the 2D panel.

I wouldn't mind taking a look at the VC and see if I can update that part of it.:salute:
UPDATE: Should have known, this being an earlier model from Ito San. . .there is no VC entry, so what's there is simply part of the mdl file and can't be adjusted or updated. Too bad!!

Hi Folks,
Ito-san only made Fs9 ac. The full ac can be dl'd from Flightsim.com, where all his ac are. All are made with FSDS 2.24.

He is dead against ac being converted to CFS2, see his Readme, so there 'should not' be any CFS2 versions out there.

There should be no probs with the standard ac and the gauges etc in Fs9, as it was made for it. I'd dl the whole ac from Flightsim and go from there.

Yes, there were several much better airfiles done, better than a 'jet' engined acrobatic one!, also available here and at Flightsim.

You're right Shessi. Unfortunately I can't edit my original post. It was late last night and I'm not feeling well on top of it. I found the Kazunori Ito P-61 at flightsimDOTcom for FS2004. There was also another I got that was for CFS2. Like I say, it was late. I should have waited until now to post of it. It was kind of exciting to find it.
....Fligers FDE made all the difference. Ito's P-61 flies much better now.

The issue with the gauges not showing, I haven't touched. Later on likely. My hopes are that those involved doing any mods or edits from the past will reply so I can have it sorted and fly it for all it can be.

Happy New Year everyone :wavey:

Hi OB,
Ha..ha I know that feeling lately! No probs.

If you want new skins I did some, available here at the Warbird's Archive. Also if you want the no-turret model version to go with some of the skins, PM me with your email.

Cheers

A new model? I would love to have it!! PMing other means of communication.
....And checking for other repaints too.

Is there a paint kit available? I'd love to indulge with some new artwork to contribute :jump:

Hi, Guys-
When the P-61 project for FSX first started, I got curious and did some digging for stuff made for Ito-San's P-61. My install currently has 10 skins and 2 models (turret and no-turret). Seems there was two panel mods as well- Ricardo Jones modified the original, and Lobo Da Silva made another one (I use this one). Ricardo also made new .air and .cfg files. I didn't know that Flieger also made files for this as well- I just downloaded them and will probably stick with them, knowing the excellent job he does... Other than the VC, she isn't bad... -Mike Z.

Hi Mike. I'm tempted to make a paintkit for this considering this is the only P-61 Black Widow that's worth a hoot. Short of the VC it's really not bad. 13 skins so far

I just finished getting the 2D panel finished.

I'd like to have the no-turret model myself (hint hint...lol) I've done quite a bit of research for this one. I'm led to believe that there's a "C-Model" out there some where. Can't track it as of yet though

Well OB that version is without a VC, if you want a no-turret version but still with a VC let me know.

You bet I do. I'd love to have a VC in this thing.

I'm currently working on paint templates. Panel lines and rivets on the booms and fuse are done. Canopy frames next. Then onto the wings and whatever bits & pieces. :wiggle:
