• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Congratulations. Remember that the only time you have too much fuel on board is when you're on fire!

after this deployment start working on instrument, eventually want to be up with the big guys flying commercial

If I had my life to live again, I think I'd go to school and become a pilot and make flying aircraft my career. Congratulations on getting your license. :applause:

yes, like that, you are in the military..im thinking you are a marine, but now that you are a private pilot, maybe you can try to move in the the marine corps aviation ,then after your commitment to the USMC,go into the ANG..say at pt Magoo and get seat time in the C-130 MAFFs units,a few years of that will give you foothold over other pilots and will get you in the door easier.its a fight every year between the feds and the tanker operators, but its been proven so many times that the tankers are an essential tool in fire fighting that they will never succeed in getting rid of them.for the life of me i cant think of the contractor name who hires the CalFire pilots (they are not CalFire employees, rather contract pilots, seasonal)but they would be the ones to contact.in the off season you could still fly part time for some company like FEDEX or someone.

Thanks Blaze for the NOTAM, I just cancelled my SoCal trip! As in the other post, license to learn for sure, especially in that airspace.
