Now what have I done?

I can't hear ATC voices, in P3d, though as far as I can see the boxes are ticked, a pilot voice is selected and the volume is set. Heidi in the A2A Cub chatters away happily, but though the ATC window shows text there's no sound. I've tried several a/c, and it works OK in FSX, so I don't think it can be a speaker or sound device problem. Might it be a control option for battery, generator or alternator needs setting? Radios show power on, and I don't get a "no electrical" or "no radio" message in the ATC window.

Yes, I have posted in the P3d forum as well, but I thought more people would see it here.

Any thoughts, please? :banghead:

You didn't mention if this occurs with a specific aircraft or all aircraft. And by any chance did you change your default flight?

I don't have P3D, but I've encountered this in FSX from time to time. Sometimes an aircraft will show the generators on, but they're not and the battery will drain over time rendering the radios useless.

I have keyboard shortcuts created for such instances: Shift+A for avionics, Shift+C for alternator/generator and Shift+V for battery.

I have this also sometimes.

Just go to the FSX audio options and select the right devices, instead of "Primary Default something"

Thank you. I'd already tried assigning avionics and battery keys, but what did the trick was changing the Voice Playback Device (in Settings\Sound) from default to speakers, and now it's all working again. Once again, Sim-Outhouse has come up trumps.
