O/T: I can't wait for this movie.

Yes! . . My kind of movie entertainment.

Especially nice to actually hear flight sounds and not only just some song playing in the background.:icon_lol:
but this is just my opinion.

Funny, I thought that was what you had in mind before the trailer loaded! :jump: Glad to see there's now a release date! :-}

CFS3 the movie!!:jump:

Exactly - it's like looking at the CFS3 intro movie: too much CGI, not a shred of authentic looking aircraft. Everything is too polished. I long for the day of handcrafted models for movies. Eg. the 'old' Star Wars movies are a great example of how battle-worn models should look. But of course a film like this could not have been made in those days. The air action would probably not have looked real without space as a background. So I understand the need for CGI.
All this, of course, is no reflection on the actions of the Tuskegee Airmen. Just an opinion based on the movie's trailer...

It's been a while since I read up on these guys, but when they were in the escort buisness we're they not escorting B-24's over Italy and no Me 262's!

It appears there were fully engaged even over Berlin according the the history I pulled up.

Tuskegee's airmen faced the best the Luftwaffe had, including the first jet fighters. On March 24, 1945, as the 332nd became the first Italy-based fighter unit to escort all B-17s all the way to Berlin and back, they met 25 German Me 262 jets. In the ensuing combat, three jets fell and the 332nd lost only one P-51. Significantly, the 332nd had completed the full 1,600-mile mission by continuing in place of a relief group that missed its rendezvous with the bombers. For this mission, the unit earned the Distinguished Unit Citation.

When the war in Europe ended, the 332nd Fighter Group had shot down 112 enemy aircraft and destroyed another 150 on the ground. Also, they knocked out more than 600 railroad cars, and sank one destroyer and 40 boats and barges.

Good morning,

Although this is for CFS2, here is a 104-mission campaign about them that Devildog and I did over the course of two years if anyone wants to use it as a base for a CFS3 campaign.

The Tuskegee airman were over looked during the war , and they deserve to have this movie made..
Even if not the aircraft are perfect and it does look like a CFS3 movie, I will see this..And enjoy it..
We Have Tuskegee Missions for MAW I have built for all to fly..Here at SOH..
May have to do a set for Europe (CFS3/ETO)

"Inspired" by true events.
It looks pretty Hollywood, but those men certainly deserve any accolades they get and more.
I'll go see it.

The original "Tuskeegee Airmen" was a classic, it will be hard to top that. This new one looks like it has alot of computer animation like "Pearl Harbor".

My thoughts too! Besides which there are far too few WW2 movies being made these days.

At least it has flight sounds and sounds like a flight movie/video.
When people here make CFS3 videos or ETO or MAW videos that have no flight sounds
you seem to love them with NO complaints that they are music videos. I don't understand.

That's probably because I never said that I like those either... ;-) That seems to be an assumption on your part.

Besides that, I feel there's a huge difference between the work of a well-meaning hobbyist and the multi-million dollar investment by a film company... A movie made by recording a running computer game/simulator or a movie pretending to depict live action are two different things. Since the movie clearly belongs in the second category, I feel I can express my disappointment when it turns out to be something from the first. Take it easy, Richcreator - like I said, it's only an opinion :icon_lol:.

My apologies, Frosty.
When I said 'you", I should have said (because I meant) the people here seem to love them, not meaning you personally.

I just hears a rumor that the preview trailor is not at all like the actual movie that
will be released. The actual movie will be screenprints in a slideshow format.
But who would care?
