I'm going to visit NY first, for 3 days, then move to Washington D.C.

No specific place in NY, other than Woman lib and Met. Museum.
Any suggestions?
(I'm going to stay at the center of Manhattan, near Madison square.)

In Washington D.C., I will visit Arlington, Navy Yard then Air-space museum!

Will 2 days for Air-space museum be enough?

Your recommendation will be helpful.

Sounds like an adventure!

Don't know what your plans are for New York City but a great way to get oriented and get your bearings is to take a Circle Line Sight Seeing Cruise around Manhattan Island. They are located less than 1 mile walk from Penn Station/Madison Sq., Pier 83-4 at corner of 42nd St and 12th Ave.

2 days at the Air and Space Museum should be more than enough. BUT, consider spending one of those days out at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center Air and Space Museum Annex out at Dulles Airport. It is well worth the trip.

Don't be afraid to use the subway/metro and public transport in either city. They are great ways to get around.

This is a great time of year to visit, too. The vast throngs of tourists have gone and the weather is cooling off!

NY VISIT

If you have time, and get the tickets, try to take in the play "War Horse" up at Lincoln Center or even "Jersey Boys". Great plays and effects. As a tourist don't be beguilded and attempt a walk in Central Park after dark. Not exactly the safest place to be after dark and don't let ANYONE tell you different.
Around Madison Park there are some good reasonable restaurants on 24th and along 23rd streets. There is a recently opened Italian/Mediterrean food specialty store that opened right opposite the park IIRC on 24th. In it there are a lot of small restaurants and counters with some tasting sections. The place is HUGE!!!!

Another way to see the city is with the double decker bus tours that are located on 8th Ave and 47th(?).
If you like museums don't forget the "Intrepid" over at 43rd and The West Side Highway.(12th Ave). Also the Museum of Natural History and the Hayden Planetarium up around 79th street and Central Park West.
A friendly hint while walking around NYC. Don't stand on a corner, or walk around, with a tourist map out trying to orientate yourself. Makes you out as a lost tourist and a mark for area hustlers.
Hate to say it but I have to laugh when I see that, but usually offer help to them to set them going at least in the right direction.

In NYC a recent trend has been the introduction of pedalcabs. These are UNREGULATED and can be a real ripoff to you. Horror tales of 100USD charges for short rides are not uncommon.
Not trying to scare you just making you aware.
I have spent my whole life, except for military tours, living and working in all parts of NYC.
Come and enjoy it!!!
 
FORGOT TO ADD

Don't forget to take in Grand Central Station. At night the ceiling really displays the artwork and the maps of the stars that are there. If you are around Madison Park the building on the south side on the other side of 23rd is one of the original tallest buildings in the city. It is the "Flat Iron Building" It was second in size to the Metropolitan Life Building across the street. Of course that was in 1902!
If you are clubbing there are several new penthouse clubs that are really magnificent at night with their views of the Empire State building all lit up. These are generally on 5th Ave. and are fairly reasonable in their prices, At least, comparetivly, as the city goes.

About going down D.C. I'll take Amtrak. It's first time for me to have a train trip
in America.

I will definitely visit the Intrepid. (Well, I was first mixed up Intrepid with Midway
which was displyied in San Diego.) I heard there is the Space shuttle Enterprise
displaied at the museum. Is it right?

And thank you for the advice about the safety. I'm a bit worry about being on my
own abroad.
Last time I had a visit (Boston), it was a buisiness trip and there were company
from Japan.

Just returened from Udver-Hazy

I'm truely amazed by the great collection at Udver-Hazy.

For the first time I saw REAL B-29.
And Seiran was a real beauty, made me think to rework on the
model.

Salute to the passion to try to preserve vintage planes, precious
milestones that our ancestors had achieved.

It's the last day of my trip to NY and DC.
I'm going to pack my stuffs for tomorrow.

Wow! Glad you got to visit the USA and also to see some airplanes.

I just visited the US Navy Aviation Museum at Pensacola, Florida. If you come back, you should plan a visit there.
