O/T Ipod software

I have a couple of freeware programs that do this, but I couldnt get Wall-E to compile to MP4 format for some reason. Probably a safety software system.

Panther,

You can download YouTube movies, convert, and upload to iPod. :d

Google the YouTube Downloader. This comes with a secondary component built in that will convert to MP4 / iPod. Use high detail setting. In iTunes Synch, select "File/Add File" and add that movie.

Has anyone tried this or any other DVD to IPod converting software? Got a new IPod for Xmas and wanted to add a movie or 2 to it.

Hey RayRey,

I had converted one with 'something' Media. The icon has a movie film reel (wheel with holes in it) and some ribbon or stripe going through it. I am in the middle of migrating software onto the new computer, so I am afraid I dont have the name or anything on it. But... It wouldnt decompile Wall-E to iPod format, so its probably not the best one to have.

That first one that AirTJ posted might be the one to get. There are a few good ones out there, but most are payware. The freeware versions are usually a bit behind.

Sure is cool though to compile a movie from DVD into iPod, lol... What an amazing and wild age we live in. A device the size of a stack of credit cards that can hold a ton of movies and play them on a high resolution little screen.....

It is awesome indeed! Over the Holidays my Father gave my 18 year old Son a history lesson on "audio visual equipment". From having to listen to shows on the radio to their first tv, to the 8-tracks player. Then I took over with the "Walkman" portable cassette and cd players, on to the IPod. Really neat conversation.

The reason why I got a new IPod is because I left my IPod Shuffle in my short's pocket and it got washed. Something the size of a matchbook that could play music. Who would have thunk it?

Ouch... Sorry to hear that. They dont all wash well.. Some make it though. My brother washed his cell phone by mistake in the washer. Dried it for 2 days, worked like it was brand new..... :d

If I find the name of the two programs that compile DVD's for iPods, I'll let you know.

I visited the website and am not bombarded by fake "antivirus" pop-up windows...might not be related, but thought I would says omething incase someone else had the same thing happened...

try 'handbrake', a freeware dvd ripper that works for ipod. A bit tempermental till you configure it properly but works pretty good for putting DVD's on my wifes nano.
