Of Running Roads and far off shores

I installed Rumbas watch masks, and they work great, but now I'm seeing the stock CFS2 wake-shores and roads running in to the sea.

Any fix for this?

Got the same problem here.I just made a virgin install for Ramis BOB pt1 with nothing intalled except whats in the read me file. All old CFS2 scenery removed,CFS2 planes removed, missions and campaigns gone.
Its all working quite well except for the coast lines being in the water instead of on the beach, and theres lakes and even larger bodies of water inland of the English coast.
Im chatting with Rami to see if we can find a fix for this.Im sure if one comes up it will be posted here.:isadizzy:

Did you guys remember to delete the stock watermask and coastline .bgl files from your scenedb\world\scenery folder before installing Rhumbaflappy's files?

If you use Rhumbaflappy's wastermasks and mesh, having the stock scenery files in there is creating two different sets of coastlines, rivers, and lakes.

The only stock .bgl files from the scenedb\world\scenery folder that should have been kept are north.bgl and south.bgl.

Yes mate,Did that.North and South were the only ones left.I,ve got mine set up exactly as you say in your ETO install guide.Nothing stock remains. Will get a few pics to show what it looks like.

Please do! It might be a layering issue, or something else is running interference. :jump:

Sorry for the poor quality but my Grab Save Clip is stuffed so I had to use my Mobile phone.Anyway here is the coast just East of Hawkinge.Headed towards Dover and West of dover.
And the river Thames West of Hornchurch,( most brits would love to parliment in this position right now):applause:

Oh and my setting at this time.

I think I know what it is. :iidea:

When you ran the BoB Bases installer by Gary Burns, one of the elements of that pack is a section of coastlines for Europe...as well as the Thames river. If you installed those, (which, given the time it was produced was the best available, and also because I forgot to mention not to) that's likely what's causing this interference.

Since the CFS2BoB folder would be installed "on top" of the base mesh, the mesh / coastlines / river set for his bases is running interference with your install. Let me try installing it to my desktop, and I'll tell you where the files are located.

Okay,

The BoB installer was an issue that I completely forgot about. :banghead: One of the "hidden" features of the installer is that his has two other sections other than the bases..."Other scenery" (I think this contains original GSL London objects) and "new Europe Water" which is a coastlines, river, and lake package for part of Europe. I'm pretty sure an older version of the Thames River is included in that.

These two features should be turned "off", and that way you'll only install the bases.

What's likely causing interference is found in your CFS2\SCENERY folder. (Note, this is not the SCENEDB folder) If you see files that look like this...delete them.

If this isn't the issue, I'll have to do some more thinking on it.

Ok.Checked that.I re installed the BOB bases with the others turned off so just the bases were installed.
I checked the scenery file and the only Bgl in there is dem4km.bgl.Everything else ,including Pacific scenery has been deleted.
But ,alas,I still have lakes all over southern England, and a rather weird looking coast.:isadizzy:
I might try turning off the files one at a time to see if we can find the culprit.

Just checking...

Just to make sure, these are the files that should be in your CFS2\Scenery folder.

Well I fixed it... I think....

I still had the old cst files dating back to 2000 as well as pac files. I got rid of them both, and so far have seen no ill effect. I run a combines theater install, so I didn't want to touch the pac files, but I moved them to a temp folder just to see what would happen. Guess Rumba really combined everything...:wiggle:

Yep .All there. One thing I did find though.I followed your instructions in the ETO install guide and it said to move all textures from world scenery to sanders BETA4 texture file.I did this only to find most of my textures did not work,so I moved them back and Hey presto my water and much of the coast fixed itself. Now all i need to do is get rid of the lake district that covers the south of england and bobs your uncle.

Interesting...

I only have Beta 3 of Sander LC.

Any chance of getting Beta 4 as his sites not working for me....

You had best wait for Rami for that one Wolf.I think maybe mine is corrupted .I could do with fresh copies of his Flattens and Textures to rule this out as my problem.(I wish they had a "man scratches head" icon to go here)
Ive had to use all sanders stuff from another install as his site is down.

I have the beta 4. I am busy this morning, but I'll be happy to pass it along to both of you this evening. Just make sure to send me a PM with your e-mail.

Ref CFS2BOB

Re run instaler, uninstall cfs2bob then reinstall airports only.
I have notice when I install cfs2bob as mentioned in threds it seems to corrupt the cfs2gsl.when I use mission builder I am only able to place one lot of scenery into it then if I try to add another scenery into cfs2gsl It will not open for reading.
I over came this problem by breaking the program up into separat parts
and installing them separatly.
Soon to upload an exploding version of hanger0 it is called hanger00.
Did you know you can manuly edit the gsl ie change hanger0 to hanger00
I have don this with my install of cfs2bob works very well with exploding hanger.

The floods have receded, and the Thames is back to it former glory. Thanks Andrew. Now to start killing things:applause:
