How do you guys preserve your installed theater missions , A/C , scenery, etc outside your computer itself. External HD, internal HD, CD/DVD, or flash drive? Mine are currently on a separate internal HD from the OS HD and I think I should duplicate it somewhere.

I think some of mine are too large for a single CD.

Thanks

Highpockets,

I use a DVD and zip the entire install onto the DVD.

Make sure you format the DVD to be used as a RW.

Devildog,

You zip the info and then unzip to the DVD or can just copying from HD to DVD work?
I am not too sure about the process of zip. I haven't used it in a while. I will have to review how to. :dizzy:

Easy way to zip them up is to right click the folder you want to zip. Then click on "Send To", then Compressed (zipped) Folder. Then let it do it's thing, when done you can name it what ever and your good to go.

Instead of backing it up onto DVD, why not use a Thumb Drive. They are cheap these days and you don't need any burning software to put it on it, just drag-n-drop or copy/paste.

Butcherbird,

Sounds like a workable situation. I have some empty thumb drives around somewhere. Just moved so got to do a search :)

Highpockets,

Because I am constantly using CFS2 on my desktop and laptop, I have a full set of installs on each, as well as a full CFS2 backup on my Seagate external that I religiously update once per month.
