• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

off3 and new system

with off3 and track ir on its way, time to seriously consider a new system.
this could be all just a pipedream, but have to start thinking about it eventually.

Keep in mind, this is all for mulitiplayer, and I can deal with reduced graphics, the problem I need to resolve is the loss of control of my aircraft near to the ground, and reduced aircraft performance in the multiplayer game overall. FYI the 2 computers i play on now are 2gig pc3200, 256 pci and agp p4's 2.4 and 2.93c.

I really dont want to put together something with great expectations, only to find out most if not all of the problems i/(we) are having are primarily due to internet connections.

I am aware of the fact I am missing out on a whole new world of improved graphics, scenery, effects, etc etc, and there is no doubt the improvement in the ai in off3 would make quick combat a more desirable option, but, always have been, and always will be a rb3d addict, and would really like to get back into that arena again. Nothing beats playing against real people.

So, any input anyone can give as to what improvements I may expect in multiplayer with a new system, and what improvements i probably wont get would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not an expert on this subject and wouldn't go as far as to tell you upgrading will solve these problems. I did have some experience when upgrading helped to kill that lag issue I was having when playing my favorite fps on remote servers. It took 2 years 2 cpu's and 3 video cards to make it go away. I was pretty sure my ISP was to blame but the latest video card I bought specifically for OFF did it. LOL. I'd say try upgrading gradually and see how it goes.
OFF visuals worth upgrading anyways. :ernae: see you in the sky
 
I'd drop a PM to somebody who flies on-line all the time, but as far as I know. You need above 2 ghtz, but that's it. Until the CFS3 server gets restored to life ( Microsoft ain't doing it . .No profit )

You have exactly two chances of bringing back the RB3D action.

oh,,,dont get me wrong,,,,off2 is a great replacement for rb3d. Its just the mp i miss.

and,,,did put up a post about game play in the cfs3 forum about 2 weeks ago,,,last time i checked had no replies...
