Official A2A Simulations Piper Cub Patch Video

The Accusim is a MUST have for realism.
And as for the tundra tire/water part....I am blown away. I have been wanting that for a good while. Thanks Scott and crew.

All that is missing is the Musty smell of water damage, mixed with dead fly's, and Avgas.... Soon coming to a computer near you!
You could always soak an old sports sock in manky pond water and toss it into a dark corner under the desk. You'll soon have that authentic floater smell then! :icon_lol:

ok i feel a nice challenge row your cub across the busiest shipping strait globally.... the English Channel
Please be aware that A2A will accept no claims for Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI's) from anyone who attempts this! :isadizzy::icon_lol:

During beta testing I paddled across the small lake in Ian P's new 'Lewisporte' scenery in Newfoundland and I can tell you my arm/hand ached when I got to the other side! :isadizzy:

Awww. Fancy trying to paddle from end to end of its follow on then?

I found this one about the same distance Lewisporte is from Gander, but the other way. Saw the town's name and though... Oh. Hmm. Yes. That's... appropriate!

It's a WiP at the moment, nowhere near done. Primarily because while Lewisporte was one LOD12 cell's worth of coastline to redo, you can count the ones here yourself... And I haven't started looking at landclass for the towns and finding somewhere more realistic than my temporary one for an airfield...

I've had a go at paddling too, after being sent a beta of the patch by Scott. I ended up going in circles, unintentionally, but it is very useful indeed for those of us who like playing with aeroplanes and water. :applause:

I would answer that, but I've been told not to comment. :engel016:

Slightly more seriously, Bloomfield is just the one closest to the middle. I'll also have to add jetties, at least, to Charlottetown (that'll please my neice), Brooklyn (which has no bridge), Musgravetown, Lethbridge, Jamestown, Port Blandford...

Yeah. Sometimes, I do bite off rather more than I can chew. But it's a nice short hop from here to the Random Islands which, again, well, I just had to with a name like that.

Edited to add: I didn't intend to drag this off topic, sorry... Quick! Back to patches before I get slapped with a wet haddock!

Never been so excited about paddling LOL!

I have an idea for paddling to takeoff speed. Paddle as fast as you can off Niagara Falls.... someone give it a try and get back to us. :icon_lol:

BTW... when are we going to get Accusim weapons and targets... I will get really excited then!:jump:

OK, I couldn't resist a challenge like this! :icon_lol:

I just tried 5 times with mixed results.

First problem - the default FSX scenery for Niagara Falls puts a strip of land about 2-3 ft wide right on the lip of the falls (I only tried the Horseshoe Falls as I could see from external view that the American Falls were even worse).

When paddling up to the edge you 'lose' the paddle when you hit the lip and stop (it gets returned to the float leg when on land). However I did eventually find one small area where you can paddle over the top.

If you use the 'Hand Tow' feature you can pull the Cub over the lip when it beaches.

Once out of the five attempts I managed to get enough airspeed to 'air start' the engine but I was so amazed that the engine started that I forgot to pull out of the dive! :isadizzy:

All the other attempts did not start the engine but I did manage to 'land' at the bottom without breaking a prop even though I did not get enough airspeed to fly.

I suppose if you had the throttle wide open (mine was closed) and managed to get an air start on the drop you may be able to fly out but it would need more testing.

Bottom line is that it may be possible but would require a lot of practice....and a lot of luck.

is Angel Falls in FSX? that'd be one you couldn't possibly fail to get an airstart off! even just taxiing over the edge (not enough water to paddle over),

Yeah, that's all cute and nifty, but I'm still waitin' for a 'Scream Patch' for the Stratocruiser. I done wore out the voices on the first one:wiggle:

What we need is a Pilot Instructor in the back seat who yells at you like my DI's did at Parris Island! "You worthless magot! What the BEEP, BEEP makes you think you could ever fly my beloved cub!:icon_lol: :engel016:

Don't forget whacking you on the side of the head with the map. It is my understanding that that was a favorite communications technique with early IPs.

Awesome!!! :wiggle:

Can't wait for it.

I few month ago, I was looking back to my FS2004 bush flying live, and just wished to have it in FSX. Then came Tongass Fjords X and now the Accu Sim Piper Cub and it is getting better and better....Happy guy over here..

WTF are you kidding me??? Wow what next A2A? Maybe the next Accusim will have my PC and desk actually lift off and fly around the yard. Fantastic job on this amazing.

I freakin' LOVE that paddle feature! :ernae::jump::ernae: Just tonight, I was leaving from Petersburg Seaplane port and wishing there was some way to get back from the dock besides slewing. Color me one happy dude.

Not that you'll need it now, but the "pushback" command will do the trick, also.

TracyQ,

Yeah, but I've never been able to call for a pushback on any light airplane I've ever been on. I pull the tow bar out of the baggage compartment and Pull the airplane.
