Oh well I suppose I'll have to download...

Great job NL2000 guys:applause:

Yes they did a great job! :applause: The 'waddenzee' in the north of the Netherlands, where Roger is flying, looks really good. quite a lot different from the normal FsX seas as it is quite shallow, and during low tides you can walk from land to some of the islands. They did an awesome job recreating this in their scenery.

It is so photorealistic I can find my way home from almost every place just by following the roads. Let's hope they finish the EHAM scenery soon, can't wait for that final big missing piece!

I would like to try it as well, but there is a lot of downloading to go through. I am wondering if the airports can be installed without installing the large photoreal base scenery?

Yess you can! You'll need the installer, 3D objects and the libraries packs, all others can be downloaded individually, and switched on or off later. Note some military airfields have two versions, one current inactive and one historic active version.

Since downloading Aerosoft's German airfields 1 the (German Frisian islands and Sylt) I've wanted to have the Dutch Frisians photoreal too. It seems that even with all the Dutch coastline areas there will still be some missing the photoreal textures but I think those are missing in the German download. Maybe I could exclude those?
The white sand and slightly windswept look reminds me of the Lincolnshire coast where I spent many happy holidays as a small child.

I'm using the Bit Torrent facility they offer and it's working pretty well so far.

Are there issues with FTX Global I'm wondering?

Shouldn't be as photo-real always rises to the top. However I'm not sure how the "join" with other countries will be. I'm sure one of our Dutch members who have both will chime in.

I am using NL2000 V4. Not sure if there is a later version or not but it is great.

ORBX was asked if they were going to do an EU Netherlands but their reply was that the NL2000 team had done such a good job it wasn't necessary.

It must be some of the best, low level, photoreal I've seen. By low level I mean it's good down to just a few hundred feet and even then it's good but you can see it's flat. There is autogen/ library gen and a specific objects library which I will add later.

Soesterberg AB with nothing but NL2000 photoreal scenery and airport (sorry a bit blurry, my laptop is quite crappy):

Same location with NL2000 airport and FTXG textures beneath it... It can be done, and it looks quite nice too. Might look even better with more autogen and OpenVFR landclass...

But FTXG doesn't look quite as nice when approaching the Belgium border... That's always the same story when leaving a photoreal area.

Anyway it would be really foolish to fly over the Netherlands without NL2000 photoreal textures... especially near the water (and DX10 turned on)... You can download all the airports, but first choose only a few photoreal tiles, only coastline regions for example... like here the Friesland and Noord-Holland areas ("FR" and "NH" tiles).

Low and slow, that's the way to enjoy it...
