Ohh looky here what I just found on my HD (part FSx) conversion

A WIP shot to show the resolution. Still have shadowing on the lines and rivets to do as well as some mild grease/dirt/gun residue to add.

The Virginia Air National Guard flew F-84F's from 1958 to 1971. They painted theirs in the SEA camo pattern some time in the late 1960's. Nice to see a F-84F in development for FSX.

Our 95th FIS had the F-84 sabers when I was at Andrews AFB in '56/'57/'58 and was phasing to the Super Sabers F-86's when I got discharged. :icon_lol:

A few "In-Sim" shots. I still have some decals to add in several places and a bit more dirt to add, but close:

Nice seeing the F-84 in Ohio ANG trim. Last Saturday, the 2nd, KMFD held its 2nd annual Airport Day....a fly in (greatly hindered by thunderstorms in the area) and car show. While there, I saw that they have 2 "Gate Guard" aircraft...an F-84 in SEA Camo and an F-100 in SEA Camo. Both are former Ohio ANG planes. I need to get back down to the airport soon and see how I get up close and personal with those planes.

What are the odds of getting that paint in FS9 usable size and format?

OBIO

I would love to have this one in FSX...and old model is fine. Better on frames which is awesome when it comes to fast flying jets!:guinness:

That #5 pic looks more like a Cougar to me than it does an F-84 ( its the wing intakes and the F-9f8 nose ). Am I missing something here?:? Am i totally dense??

OBIO, actually the old photos I was able to find of this actual airplane didn't show the ANG Emblem on the tail. There may have been one (Special Paint maybe?) that had it, but nothing I found showed that. I put it on there (had to redraw from scratch as I was never able to find that exact logo) only because it was on the original.

As for an FS9 format. Currently, these are 2048x2048, will FS9 accept that or does it have to be 1024x1024 only? I can reduce everything, but the placards/decals clarity will be lost.
