If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

OK dumb question time

SOH-CM-2025
With all this talk about new FDEs for the A-7, A-6 and A-4, which are greatly appreciated so thank to you guys working on those.

Now the dumb question, where do they go in the model folder and what do I need to change etc. :dizzy:, not got a clue.

Not likely in model folder, changes usually made to aircraft.cfg or the .air file.
Have seen a few with a gauge folder entry and a panel.cfg entry, but rare.
What to do should be documented in the downloaded update file.

As always, backup your particular aircraft's folder first before applying, that way you can revert back if not satisfactory or copy any added repaints to the new aircraft.cfg if that was what was changed.

Noddy, the FDE is defined by the *.air and the Aircraft.cfg file. Both need to be put directly in the (addon) aircraft folder (aka container). For the RAZBAM A-7E/D that would be:

Aircraft folder (container) = \SimObjects\Airplanes\RAZBAM A-7 Corsair II

If you look inside this folder, you will see the Aircraft.cfg and the A-7.air file in there.
In the case of the FDE mod, those 2 files need to be replaced with the ones I attached in the Razbam A-7E fde thread.
