Okay...so what exactly is your angle Sir???

I, too, am all over the place. As far as inside the aircraft I fly something like 85% 2D/15% VC. I am partially blind and find that my eye(s) have a hard time adjusting to the constant movement required in the VC. Also, the size of the 2D instruments is easier for my vision to deal with.

I spend a lot of time in spot view because I just like looking at airplanes. The sounds are nicer from the outside, too. And the tower view is great for fly-bys. The only problem I seem to have there is that I often get all crossed up on my control inputs and end up in the proverbial smoking hole in the ground!

I get the same problem - that's why I do my fly-by's from inside the plane and then pause the flight and replay the last 45-60 seconds. When the replay ends, you're right back to the point where you paused.

Gentlemen

I thank each and every one of you for contributing your thoughts.

Much of this is intended to be relative to our perception of soundsets and the way they are used.

Many, many hours are spent in exterior mode testing in an attempt to reproduce the fidelity of sound created by full-size aircraft during as many stages of the flight mode as is practical.

So I can only suggest that you try some experimenting...you may discover a new kind of aviation experience by using views often commonly overlooked.

Happy flying :wavey:
