Okay, what the heck happened to CFS3?

Well, it sounds like CFS3 isn't quite dead yet. I am surprised they don't just call it CFS4 now with all the new conversions.

On a related note, I started up Pacific Fighters (yes, the IL2 game) the other day and tried to fly a few missions. It reminded me of why I was so into CFS3 and not IL2. I don't know if it's unrealistic or over-realistic, but that game isn't nearly as fun as CFS3.

Dai, that's funny because I downloaded my scenery tweaks and couldn't decide if they were better than the ones that came with ETO or not. PTO seems to have really low-res terrain. I don't even remember how to do the scenery tweaks. :kilroy:

The ETO scenery tweaks seem pretty good to me, not much room for easy improvement. One thing I came across the other day is a modified landclasses.xml, which claims to make the hills and mountains clearer and more defined. Can't say I can see much diff though it opens up yet another avenue for tweaking!

I remember that tweak, it's from way back. I remember it actually working, especially with small hills.

Hi OldTiger,
Do you remember the series of scenery addons by MAX? The meshbuilderbudgets.xml sits in one of the terrains folders, and MAX provided a tweaked version way back in 2004.
I'll try to attach it to this thread...
 
So, more realistic hills and mountains by making the edges softer and not so sharp? Otherwise not a big difference.

Someone isn't using my texture quality tweak. :a1089:

Old Tiger...is that squiffy's TokoRi.zip 19.63 Meg? It is corrupted in the archive...any chance of having that uploaded to the archive for download?

...From what I can tell so far, TokoRi.zip is one of the missing files mentioned in Middles thread in 2009(?) ...anyways I can't seem to find it and though I usually don't gravitate toward choppers that ska- skg- Sikorsky is one cool lookin' eggbeater! :mixedsmi:
