Old Stuff .........Still fun to fly

Hi, I am Rockster....................I am a recovering CFS2 Addict.

I was checking the web for where my old models were being displayed and how they were getting along...............and sim-outhouse came up.

I haven't flow much since winter of 2008/2009. I am back inside with the winter of 2009/2010 and thought I should put in a few of the listed favorites.............Lysander, AJ2 Savage, and the Avro Anson.

I did a stint over at Combat-Aces with Strike Fighters. I went under the alias of ClutchCargo. I was sent there under the recommendation of a few vintage jet flyers. I would recommend Strike Fighters for pre smart weapon jets.
 
Old missions too!

I had to return to Navarone, Toko-ri, and Flight of the Intruder......

I am still not welcome.........as shown by the Flak and AAA

It is looking back at what was fun and .....almost to many polygons and colors...........back around 2004??

Yes........it is dated..........but still works ........and screams on the new processors and graphics cards.

And I always say........remember 320x240pixels

After visiting the FS2004 and FSX pages...........I saw the Bristol Sagamore and S-51 helicopter and thought I should put in the Piasecki HUP.....just for compare and contrast.....

My stuff......most of the fun or challenge was probably trying to get it to run?

Also.........remember MDL Convert........yow?

Frans Seaking........great first up on the SeaKing........compared to AlphaSim ....looks like a flying bullfrog.........but it is still great fun and its free and low polys.

And.......Knox class Frigate ....pretty rough......but you can land a Helo on it.
 
Convair Pogo.........shined

Since the Convair XFY-1 Pogo was all metal.............I decided to try and shine it............

Looks pretty good.........

Others have taken the model and made some fs2000/2002/2004 versions also
 
XFY-1 .........Weapons Pod.....

When I did the XFY-1 Pogo..........in CFS2

I figured it should have weapons capabilities.....................

This was a extreme flight of fancy...............so no worries.......

It is cold............so I am loaded up in the Pogo and testing the old weapons system.......

Ha........I gave the Convair tank rounds........shape charges......

(See Disclaimer..........no animal ...mineral ...etc........)

If you haven't tried it, it worth sitting the the Virtual cockpit looking up, with no reference, and trying to take off..............You will quickly see why this was a bad idea.
 
Shine models

I would recommend..........if you like my old stuff...........

to shine them yourself............

Anything from the AJ2-savage to the Pb2y's can be shined using Hsu MDLC.......you can get it here under mortons addon's ...I thnk

Here is a shot of my C-82 packet ....Arabco ......from "Flight of the Phoenix" (Heather Sherman did a FS9 version prior to this ......so credit goes to that team for the original idea......)

I just show it here to encourage you to shine the old stuff yourself......it really gives the old stuff a second lease on life........

That would include all models done with FSDSv2.x

B-17D Alpha Sim

I was browsing for aircraft........came across the old photo of the B-17c

I had to find this one.......since I never had tried it........

I Had an urge to do an old 12 o'clock high'ish run.................in a B-17c

Settled for the AlphaSim B-17D "Swoose Goose"............

It's old .....freeware.........

You've seen it, but you still have a little Greogry Peck'ish in your flight sim jones....

New people.......it screams on the new computers

This cold snowy snap make me think of Remagen..........

So I put it back in for an old run..............

So I put in Pstany conversion of James Grimes BF 110....

I am going to see if I can add some more stuff for a Arado 234 run......and a Me 262??? Historic???

Something to browse in the mean time..........dang its cold and snowy...
