Old Stuff .........Still fun to fly

Blow up the bridge........

I am afraid there is not much you can do with this Frenchy Test mission.........other than blow up the bridge..........

Seems the Bgl for the river and surrounding hills is above the mesh.........??

I am sure this has been worked on before...........so I will leave it at that........

I can't get any infrastructure to show .......since the ground is actually below the bgl........

Yes ........groundcrews BF110 was the first 110 I flew............

I just pulled this one out since Pstrany had a great package........and I hadn't tried it.

Ground Crew Design Group Bf-110

After I ran a few bridge boom booms in the James Grimes...........

I remembered how I did like the Ground Crews Bf-110.

so here is a quick shot for those who haven't tried it...........with Mortons Skins..........

Comes with ground crew weapons ....which I was running on the James Grimes ...Pstrany version.....
 
Nord Noratlas .... twin tail cargo plane

I was at the magazine rack........and this month aeroplane heaven or air classics.........or ??? Had a big spread on the Nord Noratlas

The Nord 2501 Noratlas by Jean-François MARTIN has made the forum before and there are add-ons ...??..I think....in resources.............

I had never tried it out .........so I thought I would post some shots for a browse.......
 
Action Screens.......

Here are some more screens....before I delete..... from the run..................browse on a slow and cold saturday after the 1st of the year.............slow as molasses in January.........

I had to drop something.............cfs2 after all..... put some action in the flight........

For those not familiar ................

This is DH-C4 Caribou STOL add-on..........comes with this short field .......high obstruction supply dump airfield..............set brakes to lock before landing.........and full flaps .........just about to stall landing.........got to hit tree tops with your wheels......
 
OV-10A Bronco.........

I have been heading towards SE Asia............and have been wanting to slap on the SE Asia Camo.........

I was at the magazine rack........and January issue of ??? had a big section on the OV-10A Bronco.

and.......

If you say Bronco.........you have to convert Tim Conrad's (aka...Piglet)........OV-10A

......Went back to the jungle ......and bungled.........
 
Frame Rate killer

Be aware................Piglets fs2004 converted Bronco in CFS2 is a frame rate killer.......

This highly detailed OV-10A is fantastic......yet...........don't take a wingman............

I crashed out CFS2 with a 2 plane mission...........

There a multiple addons, skins, and conversions..............

However, the OV-10A was a solo performer in real life...........so you don't need a wingman........
 
Lysander ..........first draft

I saw the post on the new payware lysander............

It is very good......and evolution far up the family tree from my first draft attempt.........and much better than all the further attempts of mine.

Yet ........I will stick with my old lizzie.....its free...........($35 us dollars for payware......yikes)

And mine you can't repaint very well either...........

but it does take a shine......

I saw the Lysander in action for the first time in "Farewell to the King" with Nick Nolte and Nigel Havers...........It was a very different looking aircraft......in the movie it made a STOL to pick up Nigel Havers character....

Since I was doing STOL's........I thought to try Lizzie v2

Oh well.........you've seen it and heard it all........but I took the old Version 2 for a spin and shine
 
AlphaSim's B-57B Canberra

I have been wanting to try the freeware AlphaSim B-57B Canberra.

and.......

Since I was going up Route 1...........

and.......

Since I was doing old weapons..........

I popped in the RAF Parachute Retarding 1000 pounders I made ....way back.......

Some screen shots to look at......while you wait for Crashz PHP2 to upload/download.

(Note: AlphaSim Canberra is a solo performer........at least on my system........CFS2 crashes with a 2 canbeerra or more mission ..........no wingman canberra's in the mission )
 
T-28

My first CFS2 vietnam installs were in a T-28c by Mike Field, John Spangler, adn Chris/Jim Coarse.

So I had to see how it performs on this faster machine............

It looks really good......and simple...........you can run more than two or three without Frame issues.........

I also had never tried George Knowles FS2002 DaNang with the FS2004 Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore SRTM scenery mesh for FS2004 by Werner F. Vogt............big download......but really worth it.

This is old stuff.......so that is why I put it under old stuff..........
 
George Knowles ............Bases

I am just flying SE Asia files from the past....................

It really still is good on faster computers.....................for a quick hop

I hadn't tried any of the George Knowles AFB's .......they are built with Airport for FS2002.........but of course they pop rigth into CFS2

The FS2004 mesh really make em pop..........

Everything is API.........so nothing goes boom

I am just now over Khe San.........but are'nt GSL so the frame rate starts to drop with the huge mesh.........etc...etc.........

But I have always really like this old T-28c........

Get em all at Fligthsim.com and simviation.com.......nothing new....old stuff

Piglets is great......but it maybe frame rate intensive......
 
Hills around Khe San

I know a T-28c probably wasn't CAS at Khe San.......

But.........Flew out of Da Nang with some AI for air support to Khe San

some reverse slope Arty in the hills around the Fire Base...

FSDS version 1.........animation files

I really like the old models...........because they are simple and you can really fly normal group formations..........

However...........

They do have problems ........

The landing gear on AI...........doesn't show

The props............do show

You can't shine them

Well, at least I don't know how to correct the above..........

But......still old stuff ........fun to fly

oh and by the way......time for the disclaimer

Meshes other than CFS2

I should also point out..........

That meshes ..........like those from FS2004 when popped into CFS2 cause AI not to be able to strike a target.

So my screens are a bit miss leading............

The Fs2004 sits on top of the CFS2 mesh..............

so the target in the eyes or the AI (Computer) is below the actual running mesh...........so the AI pull out or get confused and don't drop ordinance.

I can hit the target.............???

If there is a easy quick way to fix.......???

I think you have to edit the mesh and spend some time.........

Otherwise .......just fly with AI and drop on target yourself.....

and make girly screen shots

or ....

Wait untill Dirtman and Tango Romeo's Vietnam comes to a download near you.
 
DHC-4 Caribou

I am on a SE Asia roll.................

I had to put in the old Caribou........because one of George Knowles air bases said it was only accessible by a DHC-4.

Now AlphaSim came out with a fantastic payware new version................

But this is old stuff thread.............so I gave my old Bou a new and improved paint with a new name............."Space Ghost".

Its free old stuff also............

Khe San was a mortar waiting to happen ..........so they would just touch and go for supplies...........and I don't know if any Caribou's supplied Khe San.........but it was fun for a touch and go..........I think I took some corregated tin off the top of the privy.

It is FSDS ver1.x........so the wheels in AI and Props........don't show

It won't take a shine.......

I didn't do a good job of LOD......It was my first attempt......so more than one is clunky.......

For some reason........I really like this little Fighter.......

I know it wasn't a great attack aircraft.......but I seem to want to load it up and fly in low.......

This is freeware........and old stuff.........sort of

It does want to be a solo performer..........at least when you add George Knowles AFB's and Enhanced SE Asia Mesh

It crashes my machine with a wingman
