One damn good reason to watch the IRL

Sounds good, except IRL switched networks to VERSUS for most of their races. Don't have it, never heard of it until a week ago. :help:
 
i wish she didn't do that. previously she was a good example for young girls to see that a woman can be sucsessful without using her looks in a cheap way

Oh give me a break. She was successful long before she ever even considered doing the SI shoot. Do I detect a hint of jealousy of a woman who is both successful and beautiful?
 
Did she ever learn to drive like a pro ? I stopped watching IRL events midway thru her first season with IRL.

At least the Cobra she's laying is SMOKIN !

Actors, singers, professional athletes, etc. don't owe anybody's kid anything. The only girls she would need to be a role model to is her daughters (if she has any) or her nieces (if she has any).

being a man, i could hardly be jealous of danica patrick for being a beautiful woman. and her being successful long before her shoot with s.i is exactly the point i am making. she didn't need to do it. it was a money grab.
hence my use of the word cheap. the shoot she did cheapens the achievement of being a woman who made it as a great driver in a male dominated sport. do you see any male drivers from the irl appearing in swimsuits? as for the statement about celebrities not owing anyone's kids anything, or that she doesn't need to be a role model to anyone other than her own kids, i disagree. if you are a celebrity, you accept all that comes with it. the money, the status and popularity, the endorsements, and yes, the responsibility to your image. do you disagree? apparently, kellogs does not agree with you, just ask michael phelps

Says who? Her job is to drive a car, and win races. I don't understand why people are so worried about what others are doing when it has no bearing on their life. If my kids need to look outside of the family for a role model then I have failed as a father and we have failed as a family.

The only reason many celebrities care about their image is because of endorsements, not because they want to be a good role model.

as human beings all of us should wish to serve as the best example we can, to inspire future generations. those who accept the benefits of celebrity have an obligation to show young people what possibilities exist for them.
if you are a parent, then surely you understand that there are many infuences on our children besides their parents. especially when they reach their teen years and begin to teach themselves independendance through rebellion. why wouldn't you want as many positive infuences as possible for them? why would you want to support those who undermine your efforts with their indifference? i mean really, do you encourage your kids to go around wearing tupac shirts that say "thug life"? on them? do you think people like amy winehouse or michael vick or chris brown are the kind of people who should attract the attention of your kids? of course you wouldn't. then why not wish for them to see the best of what is out their, instead of those who promote personal gain through tawdry titillation?
