One Hit Wonders?

Patty Smyth is a fox, in my opinion.

You might remember a couple of her hits:

and THIS is a beautiful song, from the movie, "Junior"....entitled, "Look What Love Has Done To Me"

The girl in the perspex tube used to be a receptionist at my wifes law firm in London at the time of this video. She was an aspiring dancer. Don't know if she ever made it.
There must so many failed hopefuls out there, what happens to all the bass players and drummers when their more talented frontmen go on to fame and fortune?

Piglet: Oh yes! A very fine example and a good one for "The Outhouse". I remember it and the song got lots of radio play. I had forgotten it until you posted and it wasn't on a list that I had been refering to to jog my memory.

Naismith: The music business and all preforming arts for that matter certainly can be unfeeling and at times brutal to the artists envolved. I wouldn't know since I haven't experienced it but there has got to be more to life than fame and fortune. Touring with a band has got to be gruelling and also a temptation to all your vices. For what ever reason they chose not to continue or got left behind, they had a shot and succeeded at least once. They all have my respect for that.

Perhaps Ray Davies of the Kinks says it best in this song.

Here's one I like too. Found it on the list and it jogged my memory.

Flying Machine - Smile a Little Smile for Me

Oh! And by the way here's the site that has a list that I have used to help me remember. There may be more songs unlisted because all list are subjective but I found it fun to copy and past them into YouTube and have a listen. Enjoy!

There's so much variety here. This is a genuine one hit wonder from Australia in 1971. Top little bluesy/rock track from Spectrum-"I'll be gone".

Very nice. I like that one. demorier thanks for the insight from Austrailia. When I was about 12 years of age, you know the dark ages of 1963. This was an imported hit from "down under".
