One Of My favorate Russian IL86 But !

One of my favorate Russian Airplans is the IL-86 by Mr Samborsky, I found it to
be very underpowered. Using a just 15 degree flaps and a long takeoff roll at
Tempolhof Berlin I used up the runway approaching 120 MPH I pulled back on
the stick as I reached airspeed of 140 mph I pulled the gear up and then I got
the stick shaker (stall) I tried to push the nose down but she stalled and I went in.
I wonder if the real IL-86 was that underpowered?

Cheers

Casey

There were a handful of models of that aircraft, which one are you referring to? I noticed the same thing on one of them and made some edits to achieve something closer to expected performance parameters, real or not at least it didn't end up in the drink trying to get off the ground.

The original IL-86 was a dud. Rather weak and thirsty engines and hence only ~2500 nm available range with a full pax load at MTOW.

It got much better in the form of the IL-96.

Check the fuel and payload section before take-off; some aircraft are overweight by default and you'll need to reduce weight or fuel before take-off.
