Everyone, and i mean everyone needs to watch this film, spread it around every aviation site you know, this is a must watch.

General Aviation airports are dissapearing fast in this country. Often times it was the airport that caused the community to grow around it, and now they are being forced out of business, by real estate, complaining neighbors, and in one case a mayor who wanted a park named after his wife.
 
It's a wonderful film. My eyes teared up in the first 5 minutes the first time I saw it. I think it is pretty well known here, but it never hurts to post about it now & then.
 
I've watched it several times. One of the best aviation history films there is. And for the most part, a true story that reflects on times past, and currently.

Fantastic flick!! And as someone who watched in horror as my own GA Airport, Merrill Meigs Field was Bulldozed in the middle of the night,I know to well,Never take your airport for granted.

Great video! Reminds me when my father took me to this place between Lockheed ans Caeswell AFB when I was a kid. At that time the F-105 and F-4,B-52 would take off. That F-4 would shake the car when it had its afterburners on.I took my kids there to.

I think this was a time that Americans had a real deep feeling for aircraft.

Excellent film...got the DVD and catch it often on one of the HD channels on the satellite. Well worth a spot in your DVD library.
 
I have that movie, and love watching it. Plus, I have the soundtrack as well.

I believe Van Nuys airport was done for FS9, but has it been done for FSX?

i took my copy of "one six right" to my folks house yesterday and we watched it after lunch....both of my folks are airplane nuts...mom complains before we watch airplane shows or before we go to airshows..but is allways excited and enjoys them more than she ants to admit...but the movie 1 6 R got her all fired up and she called a local politition and he came over ( with his wife) for snacks and to watch it,gave him some ideas on how he is going to continue to fight for KAUN...seems some of the transplants to my area are trying to shut our little airport down again because they moved here for piece and quiet....arrrrg
