• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Rest In Peace Sir.

It seems to me every American generation is the Greatest...from Valley Forge .to some sand pile in Afghanistan..while they are with us, the kids,we appreciate them, honor them,...yes of course the WW2 generation are Old guys now.,who can recall WW1,?,As a young man in the early 50s a few civil war vets were around.Last Union veteran, Albert Woolson, died 8/2/1956, age 109
Last Confederate veteran, John Salling, died 3/16/1958, age 112

They lived to see the KOREAN WAR,even that now called the Forgotten war!.I remember them and that War!,And all the others?.today even 9/11 is becoming dim,.....the only way to honor them,is of course their stories keep being told ,over and over....One thing to look at a cold marble monument , in a sec. move on,an other to read the words about those then living breathing kids...and they were a lot of them, in blue and Grey ,Kakii ,OD,and Camo,on ships, under the waves, and in the air..they lay in graves all over the world, far away places, the white crosses, and the stars of Davids, all Americans!.what a legacy we have....they say only the dead has seen the end of war, however its incumbent ,the living to never let these kids fade away........as long as we remember they live, once forgotten ,they are gone!.I try not to forget!!Like many others I might add!!
