Guys,

I will be there 10/22 - 10/24 and will try and post some video and pictures when I return from the event. This group is very professional and have participated in several movies and on the History Channel. Should be able to get some good aerial pictures of the armor both US and German tanks and smoke on the ground. My L-4 will be dropping messages and directing artillery fire against the German positions.:)

STEVE,

YOU CANT REALIZE HOW EXCITED I AM TO HEAR FROM YOU. THERE WAS A ORGANIZATION WHO BROUGHT A BIRDDOG OVER A FEW YEARS AGO FROM A ORGANIZATION IN ENTERPRISE, WHICH HAS NOW DISBANDED AND THE AIRCRAFTS RETURNED TO ATLANTA AND THEY HAD A BLAST. WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOU. WE NORMANALY PAY ALL FUEL EXPENSES BUT IF THAT’S NOT ACCEPTABLE WELL WILL DO WHAT WE HAVE TO. IT BEGINS FRIDAY AND RUNS THROUGH SUN NOON. IT IS A FULL SCALE TACTICAL WWII BATTLE. IT IS NOT A PUBLIC EVENT. IT IS A EVENT THAT IS FOR THE PLEASURE OF THE PARTICIPANTS. THERE WILL BE 200-250 PEOPLE GERMAN AND AMERICAN. IT IS A REENACTMENT OF (THE BREAK OF THE BOCAGE) OPERATION COBRA JUNE 1944. THE L4S WERE INSTRUMENTAL IN THIS BATTLE. WE BATTLE ON A 300 ACRE SITE AND THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM FOR YOU TO LAND. EVERYTHING WE DO IS PERIOD, BATTLE, VEHICLES, LIVING QUARTERS, GUNS. THE ONLY THING THAT IS NOT IS FOOD, I SERVE BBQ CHICKEN FRIDAY NITE AND BBQ PORK RIBS ON SATURDAY NITE. BREAKFAST SAT AND SUN IS ARMY STYLE FROM OUR WWII KITCHEN. WE HAVE ROOM TO PUT YOU UP IN THE ENCAMPMENT IF THAT IS SOMETHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO. WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOU THE ENTIRE TIME, BUT WOULD BE GRACIOUS FOR WHAT TIME IS ALLOWABLE TO YOUR SCHEDULE. DURING SATURDAY AND SUNDAY YOU CAN FLY OR DOWN AT YOUR DESIRE. THE ONLY TIME WE WOULD HAVE TO CLEAR THE SKY IS WHEN THE T6 TEXANS FLY. FOR 20 MINS AT 11 AM SAT. I AM A AVID WWII VEHCILE COLLECTOR I HAVE TANKS, AMOURED CARS, JEEPS, TRUCKS, TRACTORS ETC. ALL WILL BE OPERATIONAL SATURDAY. MY LATEST PROJECT IS A C47 WHICH I HAVE AT THE EVENT SITE.

LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU.

One group I was with in the UK had a bit of trouble once many years ago... For using live ammo during private/training weekends. It was very interesting getting petrol-bombed and then shot at with real .30-'06 rounds while I was trying to cook sausages on my entrenching tool for breakfast... OK, that's OT...

I asked about the dangers of live ammo getting mixed in with the blank rounds and they have a very strict inspection off all weapons and rounds going in to the re-enactment area. They also have a policy in the rules about firing on low flying aircraft.

Here is the link to the Operation Cobra Page, there are some good pictures there from past events.
