A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Skins - British

Description: F.A.A. Grumman Martlet II skin by UncleTgt

This is a repaint for the Donationware F4F-4 Wildcat for CFS 2.

This aircraft is from 806 Squadron Fleet Air Arm August 1942, when aircraft from this squadron were based on H.M.S. Indomitable during Operation Pedestal, the vital convoy bringing relief for Malta. This aircraft was flown by sub Lt. John Cotching, who later became the Royal Navy's most successful Martlet pilot. He was killed in action during operations off Norway 8th May 1944.

To install, create a backup of your F4F-4 Wildcat textures. Unzip the download to a temporary folder & copy across your chosen texture files into the texture folder for the F4F-4, letting it overwrite the files there.

OR

Create a copy of your F4F-4 Wildcat aircraft & rename it. Replace the textures with the files included in this zip.

Thanks to
FDGv2 group for a detailed model, all I did was to rework the textures back to a plain unmarked skin, then apply some camo & markings.

This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions

UncleTgt,

Thank you! I appreciate this so much. I will likely release the Pedestal campaign next week...Mezzagosto will take some more time.

Superb as usual! I'm glad that you used the DWare Wildcat for your base.

By the way, how did those Martlets stack up against the Italian and German planes during the Pedestal Convoy? I haven't read too much about the air to air battle over the convoy.
