Opinion on aircraft

Great video Jan! It is of course my personal taste and opinion, but I think the FCS is well past the end FS9 looks.

For MDIvey: Matt Wynn did some repaints which are available at flightsim.com (just search on his name).

Cheers,
Huub

Not to hijack this thread into a discussion about various Lancasters and the FCS version which Joe asked about here is a comparison shot of the Plane Design version

I do not have the FCS version but have tried the AH version which was a terrible portover and quite frankly junk, nothing worked in the VC. My only comment about the PD version v the FCS is that from the screenshots the FCS version has far superior graphic quality internally and is very realistic whereas the PD version is a little plastic by comparison and desperately needs a rework but the functionality is good. I think the PD version handles like a heavy 4 engined piston tailwheel undercarriage bomber and with a decent set of Merlin engine sounds is quite good. The selection of variants is interesting as well. Ross McLennan has been allowed to reissue this for his Dam Busters and Canadian Lancaster memorial flight but the limitations are that the VC is basic and to get full functionality you need to upgrade to the payware version which is still available via Flight1. Ross did a wonderful job in creating the bomber aimer position and sights used for the Dam Busters raids and even though it only works in 2D it is accurate and realistic and adds significantly to the enjoyment of this aeroplane in bombing run mode. Ross McLennan also has a modified air file and cfg for the memorial packages he released which is for the Merlin 28 type.
Food for though, I will probably get the FCS version in the near future but the PD version is pretty good externally and for performance.
