• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

ORBX Airport Maps - Freeware and Payware update

Thanks. Link fixed. How can I download the freeware KSZL scenery. All i get are maps wit no scenery links. Bob

As far as I can tell KSZL is part of the North American Freeware Global Pack. It was added back on 9-7-15. Should be in the latest pack. It is in my Freeware Global Airports folder. Don't think it was ever a separate installer.
 
I downloaded the FTXGLOBAL_NA_Airport.zip which is 20.1 Mb in size. It says I need the FTXORBXLIBS_160528. zip which is 1.3Gb in size. The exe installers only allow the files to be put in the main FSX folder ORBX folder. I am getting full on my FSX drive. Can I install them on another drive somehow or can I move them to another drive after I installed them in FSX ORBX? I know if I do I have to point the Scenery Library to the new path. Thanks, Bob.

The only way this can be done successfully is to install the files and then move the whole ORBX folder to another drive.
Then you can delete the ORBX folder from inside your simulator folder and replace it with a symbolic link to the new location.
I would advise against this if you are not or cannot become fully confident with managing the files and creating a symbolic link.
A Google search for symbolic link should provide numerous guides and if you prefer, software to help you with the process.
 
Thanks. I did just as I asked in my question. It works fine. I have no idea about why a symbolic link is required. I set the Scenery Library to look for it at the new location. Regards, Bob.
