ORBX RELEASES 3W5 Concrete Muni Airport, plus a bonus free WA56 Israel's Farm during

Orbx is pleased to announce the release of 3W5 and WA56. Beautiful Skagit County hosts Concrete Municipal Airport which shares real estate with the high school set in the center of the town of Concrete. The Orbx duo of Andreas Hegi and Heiko Glatthorn (Hervey Bay, Darrington) continue to impress with their fanatical attention to detail. You will enjoy exploring the whole town including the gray tall Portland Superior Cement Silos, some of the numerious local churches, gas stations, coffee stand, local grocer, Lower Baker Dam, the Old Town of Concrete and many buildings accurately modeled. The airport itself is a perfect rendition of the real thing, based on hundreds of photos taken on site. As a bonus for 3W5 customers, Orbx is giving away completely free WA56 Israel's Farm at Sedro-Woolley, which is located 15 miles east of Concrete. This private strip features 30 km sq. of photoreal 5-seasons image, incredible long grass for an authentic grass strip feel and custom modeled objects based on hundreds of photos taken on-site. This free airport offer only applies during the month of July. More information at http://ftxnow.com <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I'm sure when this was released, or even prior to that, there was information on the coverage area. I've looked everywhere I can think of on the Home page and find nothing, other than a postage stamp sized map that indicates a "general" area of coverage. Is there anything more detailed?

These scenery releases are KILLER. I've been putting around them all evening enjoying them, thinking about making a video. :D

Here you go, from the user guides:

If you mean the KML file that shows all PNW goodies it can be found here:

For a general overview I have made an own KMZ file which shows Orbx's releases (blue), planned releases (yellow) and Ozx planned freeware (red) in the Puget Sound area:

Hope this helps.

Thanks Volker, but that link no longer has the attachment for the KML file. . .or at least I didn't see the file referenced in the first post. It says save the attachment "below". . .but there isn't any that I could see. Anyway, I found a reference on an old AVsim review that showed enough of the "Total Coverage Area" to answer my original question.

Another question though. . .is there any other site/store offering the PNW download that uses Paypal? Due to certain circumstances I cannot do a debit/credit card transaction. . .only a paypal payment using my checking account number and it appears that Orbyx has limited the sales to Credit or Debit card only transactions and only through one distributor.

Ed,
perhaps I misunderstood your comment about PayPal, but I believe SimWare and the FlightSim Pilot Shop both accept PayPal and list the base PNW package on their websites.

or

Then again, the FlightSim Store also lists PayPal

Hope that helps

Yep, but when you get to the paypal screen, it will only accept a debit/credit card number. . .not your checking account number and due to financial circumstances I can't use a card number anymore, so unless they allow for the paypal system they're using to opt for the checking account number. . .I'm out of the loop (and I would think so are quite a few others). Also, why is the Pilot Shop $25.00 higher on their price?

That's strange - when I used to have a PayPal account, any purchase I tried to make resulted in a screen which offered both the use of a credit card and my account. Anyway, just came across the PC Aviator sale, where the product is listed at $39.95 and at "15% off". I don't know whether that makes it about $34, but they also list PayPal.

Hope that works for you,

Well, that's a box version which I'm not interested in messing with. The other was a download version. I didn't bother going any further with the purchase so I don't know if it would accept a checking account vs a card number.

Personally, I'm wondering why Orbx hasn't produced a set price for this addon. . .why is it that every Store seems to charge what they want?

Ed,
found this comment about payment methods on the FlightSim Store website -

What payment methods do you accept?
We currently accept the following methods of payment:
· Visa, Mastercard, Amex or Diners credit and debit cards via Eway
· Visa or Mastercard credit and debit cards via PayPal
· Visa or Mastercard credit cards via Paymate - Processing time of at least 1 business day applies
· Instant payments from your PayPal account
· Cheque or Money Order in Australian Dollars Only
· Direct Deposit Bank Transfer
· Cash on Delivery - Available only for standard Australia Post or Local Delivery shipping methods. Additional fee of AUD $9.50 applies when Australia Post shipping method is selected

That should mean you'd be AOK, and this is for the download version (all 4.2 Gb of it)

Happy Fourth of July you blokes, at the price one is a bargain, with the second for free, the package is a steal.

Orbx should do the entire world! :ernae:

Even though I'm logged into my account I don't get an add to cart button for WA56. Does this invalidate the offer?

I found an add to cart button under Review but it didn't add to cart. This is most confusing.

Thanks Rohan, but I was aware of the Bank Transfer and that's not what I want to do. For every other company I have ever purchased from and used Paypal, I was able to simply use my Bank Account number rather than the Debit Card (it comes out of the same account after all) and the process was instantaneous. . .no hassle. . . I was downloading in a few minutes. I don't understand why Orbyx has to be different and not allow the Bank Acct Number method.

Not like they're losing anything really I'm just one person and since I've not seen anyone else complain about it, apparently I'm the only one who finds it inconvenient.

Thanks again for checking into it, I appreciate your time.:salute:

I have also taken my question to the appropriate forums as koorby suggested. So a continuation of this problem (at least a problem to me) has been moved.:salute:
