Orbx World- Bowerman to Vashon Island in the FR Super Cub

WITH VECTOR THIS TIME

I had to wait until late in the morning, in fact, the early afternoon, to start this journey. AS14 with ASCA does a great job of portraying PNW (or in fact any) weather, and we were fogged in until just now.

Having overnighted at Bowerman, I decided to leave the Scout in the hangar there (very reasonable rates I might add) and having just had my Flight Replica's Super Cub delivered, take that to Vashon. Here I am, in my best Avirex jacket (loved that one, can't fit anymore) and about ready to head east. Lana fed me breakfast, and even shoved a couple of sandwiches my way, after filling my old green Thermos with her very best Seattle coffee. Thanks Lana!

Here we are taxing out to the active... and there are already others getting ready to follow... they must have been waiting the break in the fog too....

She surprised me a bit while climbing out.... my first Champ had a 65hp Continental, the second an 85.... but this Super Cub can really claw skyward... she ought to be great in the Bush.... that's right... SHE IS!

Orbx has learned that if you really want to suspend disbelief.... the detail just HAS TO BE THERE.... still can't get over the fact that this is FREEWARE! Thanks Orbx!

So, here we are, leveled off and looking around... and smiling...

Just passing the unfinished SatSop Nuclear Power Station....

As we will be close (sorta) to SeaTac, I thought I had better fly IFR (that's I Follow Roads for the non-rated )

Greenhouse farming must be BIG in this area.... but with the Wx, I can understand why......

That must be where the Vashon Ferry snuggles up... and just look at all the sailboats out already.... I used to race Enterprise Class, but that was another lifetime ago...

Yikes! Look what's ahead... double check our transponder is on and we are below 3000.... phew... would't wanna tangle with that, they're WAY bigger than me....

BTW- if you don't have Taxi2Gate's KSEA- it's BRILLIANT! Also, this sound set in the FR Super Cub is quite good, so much so that I'm thinking of turning it down.... I've been able to tweak RPMs and not just see, but hear and FEEL the change... it drives the sub really well...

Vashon Island has two airports... here's one.... Wax Orchards....

That's where we are going... and I remember doing turns about and around a point, around some towers just like these, off Lake Thonotosassa in a Traumahawk....

Yay! A dirt strip.... I MISS THOSE!!!!!!!!!!

Here are some more of those Hi-Viz Balls Orbx is so fond of.... we stayed a touch high to clear comfortably...

This looks as good a good place to tie-down as any...

I hope you are enjoying this adventure. Orbx has been working overtime to port all this into P3D v4 and I am grateful for their efforts.
