Ordnance mislocated

Just recently I downloaded the VN PBY on Sopwith's site (Page 4) The problem I have is every Ordnance I select (Bombs,Torpedoes,Depth Charges, etc.) shows up located several feet below the wing with the pylon attached properly to the ordnance. Is there an adjustment I can make somewhere to move them up some so they show up attached to the bottom of the wing instead of far below it?
Thanks

[HARDPOINTS]

Hey kwb737,
You can correct this in the aircraft's dp file. The problem is with the Hardpoints mount locations.

[HARDPOINTS]
mount.0=-0.278,-1.08,-1.93 //L-R, U-D, F-B
mount.1= 0.278,-1.08,-1.93
mount.2=-0.278,-1.08,-0.05
mount.3= 0.278,-1.08,-0.05
mount.4=-0.278,-1.35,-1.93
mount.5= 0.278,-1.35,-1.93
mount.6=-0.278,-1.35,-0.05
mount.7= 0.278,-1.35,-0.05
mount.8=-0.278,-1.08,-0.5
mount.9= 0.278,-1.08,-0.5

The numbers are in reference to the model's true center. Usually the center line of the fuselage, where the main wing intersects.

Up or down will be the second number. - is lower, + is higher from CL.

It will be some trial and error and after every edit the .cdp file must be deleted prior to loading the aircraft in the sim.

Hope this helps, Dave

That did it Dave! Thanks so very much. You're right that it did take a little trial and error but all my ordnance now is in the proper position. I learn so much on this site from all of you. Thank you again for the help.

Thanks SC. I'll give it a try next time. Hopefully there won't be a next time! Thanks again.

ALWAYS A NEXT TIME !!!

KW, you're gonna find using DPEdit addicting to the point of distraction.... :isadizzy:

I use it CONSTANTLY to move hard points, adjust damage boxes and weapons, etc.

It's one of those GOTTA HAVE CFS2 tools - An invaluable resource for File Meddlers like me and I can't thank
Yusaku Homma enough !

Enjoy, and don't be a-feared to ask if you need advice

Bearcat is Correct

Sometimes, when it's late and there's nothing but crap on the flatscreen, I head off into the Hard Drive Wastelands and rearrange damage boxes on my ships w/ DPEdit....

Most are very close as received; others have no common edges or symmetry and - considering my Gawd-Awful case of OCD - I can spend an hour on ONE hull making things look pretty... to me, anyways.

I have a question for the Learned Ones - Did we ever decide if lowering the Hull Damage Box(es) well below "sea level" improved our chances of a torpedo strike ?

SC, i do recall that discussion -- it was about two or three years ago -- but the final conclusion escapes me. But judging from the fact that i never rounded up all of the ships for refitting, the conclusion must have been nay, otherwise i would surely have acted on that.

Can't keep a good thread down...

Good morning,

I just wanted to let you know that threads like this never outlive their usefulness, I had to find it this morning to mount a fuel tank on the Alphasim Swordfish to extend the range for a trip to Kiel. :wiggle:

My little bit of illiteracy here,

I have been trying to tinker with the Garwood Lancaster as converted by Budda13. It seems that the engine start-up exhaust flames are way off. #1 is waay behind the port, #2 is up and behind, 3 is behind and four is also way behind the post. Problem is when I went looking for the effect I can't seem to recognize it. Can you give me a idea as to what it would be? Would it be a "effect" or a "extra" and what is the formulation.

BTW If interested, the Avro Lancaster Sound package by Doug Smith and Des Braban as a Packard Merlin 224 is reaaaaaly good!

Fibber,

I tried sending that gauge to you, but your e-mail bounced it back. So, I am attaching it here. :salute:

Rami;

Got it, THANKS!:salute:! Can't understand why the addy bounced it back.

Did you have a chance to see about that other one I mentioned? The Hurricane_1.gaucantfindthisfile. That was dated from 1997? Anyone know if that file is legit and where it came from? I do not recall it or seem to be able refind where it came from.
