OT again - Laptop CPU?

Buying our oldest daughter a Laptop for her B-day this year (funny how kids "need" these types of things now-a-days when we got along just fine without cell phones, computers, etc...). Just wondering which CPU I should look for in a Laptop? Thinking of either the Intel Dual Core T4300 or an Intel Core 2 Duo. I want the laptop to be useful for the next 5 years or so for her, so I'm willing to spend just a bit more for future viability.

Ah, the benefit of growing up in the late 20th/early 21st century...(an not in the 17th century like most of you here did...*Runs and hides* :icon_lol:) :d

:icon_lol: i'm one of the few thats a bit backwards.... i see a mobile phone as just that... a phone, not a camera/phone/e-mail assistant/minor internet access thing... :icon_lol:

Dave just curious. If she is not going to game on the PC why not get her a netbook. They have gotten very sophisticated. My youngest is in high school and loves hers. She is allowed to use it in class and the batter lasts 8 hours

If you get a netbook be careful...

many DO NOT have a DVD drive..And you have to buy one to do a OS backup as you do not get any disks with them... Or else get a shop to make you a back up disk..or your own removeable. :173go1:
