• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The Tevis Cup http://www.teviscup.org/ the "endurance ride" is one miles in 24 hours,often done in under 24hrs,from Squaw valley cal,to auburn cal ( side bar,ends a stones trow from my house)the trail is an old pre-gold rush trail called the "western States trail",its highest point is well over 9000ft on the pacific creast of the sierra nevada mountain range,to just 100s of feet abouve msl in the river bottoms,with a 900 ft climbout of the middle fork of the american river tthe end of the trail at the world war two prisoner of war camp ,"Camp Flint",the horses and riders,then enter what is now the "fast fridays speedway bike" race track,make a lap and its over,couple of pics to show the differant topogry,and on the link you can find maps,pics,and alot more info.
 
we have something of an endurance ride here too, and it's also called ttc. only for us, it means toronto transit commission.
