I don't post often, but I've got to share this experience...

Just returned from Cecil Field as a U.S. Navy tail-hooker!

Initial CQ consisted of 4 T&G's and 10 Arrested Landings on USS Bush, CVN-77 flying the Boeing T-45C Goshawk.

What an incredible feeling!!

FLY NAVY!

Congratulations! I am confused though. Are you talking virtual or real USN Aviation? Reason is Cecil was closed by BRAC in 99. You got my attention!

NC

update: just found this! Cool! Congratulations again! I didn't know Cecil was being used for dets. Great news, in my opinion!

NC,

Real Naval Aviation. Cecil was closed, but is now open as a civilian field and is used by TW-1 and 2 for CQ dets. Much easier, with less overhead than flying out of NAS Jax or Mayport.

Glad to hear that about TW-1 & 2. I'd known for many years about it being a civilian field. Unless things have changed, Boeing has a large facility there. Retired Capt. John Leenhouts, who has (or used to, anyway) the most carrier traps for any Naval Aviator, was working for Boeing there.

In my opinion, and many share it.....BRAC never should have closed NAS Cecil. But then again, our govt. at work. NC

Congrats! Of course I had an old girlfriend who did the same thing in an A4........ On the Lex.

Keep up the good work! T

Very impressed - well done. You have achieved something very few - and very few aviators - ever achieve. :applause:

Congrats... does this mean you've already been on DET to El Centro?
