OT: Custom decals for plasic models

Is there any way to get custom decals made for plastic models? I'm thinking about doing a B-17 in the colors of my grandfather's squadron. The circle-Y and the split arrow would be a little tricky to paint. The serial numbers I bet I could find a paint stencil for, and the rudder marking could also be painted. The bombs denoting the number of missions would be nice to have a decal for. I'm going to try to use the nose art that Bomber made when he made the WoP B-17 paints for me.

First you draw the insignia up on the computer using Microsofts Paint. Then you resize them using Paint Shop Pro or any graphic handling program you might have. You can print them out until you get the correct size.
Then taking a clear piece of decal sheet, print your design on it. Clear decal sheets are available at your hobby shop.
Then give it about four coats of Clear Coat. When it's dry, then take your Xacto knife and cut out your design and apply it on to your model.
I must have done fifty special markings this way.

Best to use an airbrush to do the clear coats, you get more control and can apply thinner layers so your decal won't crack. I know this from experience.

I haven't done plastic for a while but I think Testors has a lot of the items you need to make your decals. See if this link helps you out...
