OT...Flight Simulator sponsored ads popping up here?

I got it too on iOS (only on SOH). It seems to be some Javascript, because when I go to "Settings > Safari > Advanced" and disable Javascript, I don't have the pop-up. Enable Javascript again and it returns.

Thanks Lawman, but, unfortunately, that doesn't work for me. I keep java script turned off with my iPad and just verified it is still off but the pup-ups are still on!

It's looking more and more like I will have to do a total reset since Apple is in denial about their systems being vulnerable to malware, and my search online so far has turned up nada about how to deal with this. It is recognized to exist. Found several iPad users requesting help from Apple support and forum, but they were met with scepticism and sarcasm because iPads DON'T GET VIRUSES OR MALWARE!

Seeing it on my iPad as well.Edit: I turned off JavaScript as Lawman recommended and that actually fixed it on my end after I restarted Safari.

Seeing this exact banner ad but only on my Android phone. Annoying yet, I could not "x" it away.

OK, Lawman, and Sundog, I revisited your fix and it worked. I had to recycled my java button on-off and restarted Safari and the banners were gone. Turned Java back on and the banners were back. Now if Java will issue an update to address this hack it will be good.

If this changes I'll post it here.

Go into your Java s settings and delete the temporary java files. Then turn off Java's ability to save cached files on your device.

Thanks, Dave. I'm not sure that can be done with iPad iOS. According to what I've read on the Apple support forum Apple has to issue an iOS update with the pertinent Java updates.

Just opened simouthouse via google chrome on my android phone and I am also seeing tha ads now.

I tried uninstalling Chrome, but I could only uninstall updates, not the whole thing. I downloaded an anti malware app and scanned my phone, but nothing was found. I then reinstalled Chrome updates and turned my phone off then on, but the ads were still there. I then went to settings and disabled java script and that got rid of the ads but also changed the way google searched. I am happy with that method though as I can still use Chrome and the ads are gone.

PC hasn't been affected at all.

I use Safari and turning off JavaScript in advanced options seems to work. I don't know what it affects but I don't do much browsing on the phone anyway.

Mmm, have it now on my phone. Most annoying..adblocker does not help.
How I hate this commercial ****
Blocking java does help though.

Grrr, tablet has it now too. Bastards!
And they are not even really fs related either

I've started getting it in Chrome on my Samsung Android tablet, which doesn't run Java, but not on my Windows 10 PC.

The adds have arrived at my android phone as well. However only on the SOH pages and when I open the SOH and the add pops-up it starts with a general add. After switching pages it only shows Flightsim related adds.
There are a few things weird. In my experience malware pops-up at any site once your infected. In this case it is one stuck to the SOH. It is also a bit weird that it can't "remember" previously visited sites and that it starts with a general one and only switches to Flight sim related add after the first page.

Haven't been able to find how the clear Java on my android phone....

Cheers,
Huub

today i will get to the bottom of this as soon as the smart ones answer my request this morning

Hi Rami,

I have iPhine too but I don't do any web surfing on it. My inflection exists on my iPad which is essentially the same in this respect to iPhone. For a work around you can go into Settings, Safari, Advanced, and turn JavaScript to OFF. That should work for SOH. However, if you visit other sites that require JavaScript they may not work properly or even open. I've had this happen to me on my iPad.

I sure hope the brain trust here can figure this out.
