OT: I wish these treehouses were around when I was a kid ...

WOW!!!

My thoughts are:

1. Who has that kind of time on their hands?

2. Who has that kind of extra $$$$ on their hands?

3. Can I be adopted by them?

Unfortunately I've lived in them for a few months at a time. I shouldn't really say "unfortunately". They are significantly better than the alternatives and we were fortunate to be able to use them. They're quiet and retain heat/cold fairly well. The US Military purchased many of them for housing troops and office space overseas. They are portable as well. I've actually spent time in the same building in two different countries.

The government is also looking into purchasing them for FEMA for the next Hurricane Katrina type event.
