• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

I will be very busy for the next few days.. I just Lost my father..
I wish to express to all Please, if there is someone who loves you take the time to see them and let them Know you love them..

I saw him yesterday, and we were planning to be together today for my Birthday..
I guess that, I will have to face this as it is..
Remember to let those know you love that you are always there for them..

I saw the title of this thread out of the corner of my eye and it brought back a flood of memories. Reading the postings choked me up. I lost my Dad when I was 38; you were fortunate to have him as long as you did. Stay strong.

Owen, my thoughts are with you these days. I lost both parents a few years back; my mother first, and within less than a year, my father. Mom's heart attack was a surprise; dad's death not so much.

Just the previous June, my brother and I worked out a plan to drive them here to Maine which they loved for a bit of vacation. They had decided that they just could not drive it anymore because of their health. At the time Mom was 88 and he was 92. They had a good trip with Deb and me as their chauffeurs, and so did we.

My brother and I are really glad we were able to figure what amounted to a simple way to do that for/with them. So yes, make sure those you love know it now. Later may not come.

Just know that the pain will diminish and be replaced by memories.

You have my deepest sympathy during this difficult time. I will hold you and your family in my prayers. Try to hang in as best you can, and may God watch over you always.
 
Very sad news . My condolences to you and your family . The loss of a loved one , especially a parent , is very difficult but their memories go on forever . I know , as do many here in the SOH family .

I am very sorry about the loss of your father I can't say I know how you feel because that would not be true. This time last year September I had to admit my father to our local hospital he had passed away in October. And even now today after all the good times we had together Istill miss him very much.
